wireless Powerbeats wont charge

Hello All, I've read a number of posts about the powerbeats Charles ging problem, but most seem dated. They worked fine for two months (heard that before!), now just a quick flashing red light for about five seconds, then nothing. Power button reset doesn't work, power button and volume down - no luck, and update did nothing. It seems many people had to send them back for a replacement. I'd like to know if this is the only solution? Ive heard of this happening multiple times to people....frustrating. Thanks for any replies.

I have 2x pairs already, sent them back and got two new pairs! Beats admitted liability so when it happened again with my new pair I was very angry!

Anyway..... Not sure if I was a pleb or not but they are now charging properly AND connecting to my phone rather then just showing the continuous red light!

Solution:

1) I reset it as everyone else said to do so (hold power button and volume down button whilst plugged in) for 10 seconds - it flashed - Not sure if this step matters but I done it anyway.

2) Plugged it in and went on to Beats website to DOWNLOAD UPDATE and register. Now I have never installed an update for mine, have you?

Anyway, updated and they are now charging and connecting, no issues at all!

Try it!

Cheers guys, good luck!

Had this problem too on my Powerbeats 3 bought in November. After reading this thread I went to

https://getsupport.apple.com/

(select 'More', then 'Beats by Dre', topic 'Battery, Power and Charging')

Had an online chat for 5 mins with a member of the customer services team.

Performed some simple diagnostics and resets (Held power for 20 secs and then held power and vol up/vol down switches for 20 secs) after which I had red/white light combination 3 times, after which red flashing 3 times.

Following this check, the person online arranged a repair for me. All requested was my serial number on the device (you can find it here.... https://www.beatsbydre.com/support/how-to/find-serial-number)

and she mentioned I'd need the original receipt when I ship it (which I don't have but have said I have the bank statement transaction for the purchase of them from the apple store which I will include) .

Good luck to anyone else with this problem.

That may be, but this has no reference to "beats" on the list of "places" to go for help

Site map of Communities and Categories

I sincerely hope that BeatsByDre & Apple are setting you on a path called "1 Infinite Loop"

deggie's advice is simple and sound - try something different

I would add another standard step = Try to identify a preceding event to the misbehavior - anything at all may be significant with these complex critters

Your right, I tried several keywords to find the right community, but didn't have the sitemap. I tried Deggie's ideas previously, but no luck. Not sure what precipitating event could have had an effect - I run with them often and turned them off a couple of days ago and noticed they weren't charged. It was also the first time the red light blinked quickly for a few seconds...then nothing.
