I am having the same problem with my brand new iPhone 7 plus. People tell me they cannot hear me or that I sound like I am talking from a metal barrel. A friend of my called me from her new iPhone 7 plus the other day and I got to hear what all of my callers were experiencing. She also sounded like she was calling from inside of a metal barrel and her voice kept comming and going . So what is it with these new iPhones that they did not tell us about??

Again, try the troubleshooting steps in the support document I provided, and as a last resort, make a Genius Bar appointment at the nearest Apple Store, or you can use the Contact Support link at the top right of these pages and set up a mail-in service if necessary.
Had my phone over a month and it's the same started of ok now afew weeks old and I cannot even ring anyone cos they cannot hear me and I'm sick of repeating hello can you hear me everytime I make a call, I use my phone for work and its resorted to me borrowing a colleagues phone to make calls!
I've tried it with and without the case - in different states even. My workaround is to use headphones (with the adapter provided with the 7). The sound is crystal clear that route. But I certainly can't carry headphones around everywhere just to make a call. It actually seems like it's happening more and more lately (nearly EVERY call).
Do you have a case on the phone? You can take a look at the troubleshooting steps in this support document. Get help with the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
I have an iPhone 7 and have not experienced issues such as this. Sometimes a bad cellular connection can cause issues such as this. To test that, make a call from a different location that would connect to a different cellular tower.
Hi I got my iPhone 7 around 4 months back and it's two days I have the same problem.
I realized this I problem is only exist on phone calls and FaceTime. I can make call with WhatsApp and the phone works perfectly.
I checked microphone and if worked.
I guess this might be an IOS issue.
But I canna find any accurate answer or hint on apple website.
I'm having the same problem - Apple really does need to chime in here and offer up what they know about this wide spread issue. My phone is brand new, no cases or covers and I can't use it as a phone without headphones. Apple? Someone?
I'm having the same problem on my brand new iphone 7 plus. Happens all the time but this time it almost cost me a job as I was on the phone with my future employer. Called them back on speaker phone and they could finally hear me.

I have the same issue, brand new phone. Please apple provide a resolution. There is clearly something defective with the phone. This is a widespread issue.
You are not addressing Apple here, so asking them to provide a resolution is falling on deaf ears. You need to contact Apple Support for assistance. If the phone is less than 14 days old and purchased at an Apple Store, you can return it for a full refund. If after that point, you can see about warranty work. If you purchased it at another location, the return policy is dependent on the location.

Apple? Someone?
Did you read any of this thread at all? If so, you would have seen that Apple does not participate here,, so the are not going to "chime in here", or "offer up" anything.
If you wish to speak to Apple so you can hear them say something about the issue, then contact Apple Support. You get 90 days of free telephone service with the purchase of the phone.
Same Issue others can't hear my voice on my iphone7 plus ... phone replaced .. still the same issue I am feeling very sad about the phone I have shout when I am on call .. when are they going fix the problem ... spending lot of money and no quality .. very sad
I have this problem today, and I'm on AT&T this is clearly an iPhone 7 issue which Apple darn well better step up to the plate and offer a solution.Im heading to my local AT&T store today as soon as my iPhone is done backing up.
Have been a loyal Apple/ATT customer since 2009. The iPhone 7s plus is the worst cellphone experience I have had to date. People cannot hear me, phone runs hot on the charger. I do not have a local Apple store in my area, nearest being 90 miles away. Not good Apple.
I have the same issue. I have an Iphone7plus and the people on the other end say it's like I go away for awhile. They have to ask me several times to repeat myself. Is this an problem with my network or phone?
