On touchscreen computers, icloud.com will not work with mouse or trackpad, have to use touchscreen.

I have an Acer R11 Chromebook, which has a touchscreen. Whenever I access iCloud.com on it and go into the photos section, I am forced to use the touchscreen to navigate because using the mouse does not work, the whole webpage is unresponsive to cursors.

This is also unfortunately the case with Windows computers trying to access iCloud Photos via iCloud.com, not just ChromeOS.

Perhaps the website recognises the touchscreen and doesn't expect having mouse input as well? Either way, it certainly hinders use of the site with a touchscreen computer.

An alternative option is just to change the user agent. I used "User Agent Switcher For Chrome". Setting the user agent to Firefox works fine, but grabbing the user agent for Edge and adding it manually to the extension gives you full functionality with no error messages about unsupported browsers. Setting up a permanent rule for the icloud.com (via the extension options) is probably the easiest approach.

The website doesn't care what you use for a pointer/cursor/mouse. Complain to google/Microsoft.

I sent Apple the error diagnostic. Actually iCloud is the first website I've seen that broke due to the touchscreen. Hopefully we'll see touchscreen support eventually. 🙂
