I haven't seen that message, but I suspect it can be ignored. What do you actually see on screen?

Yes, click on sync and it does step 1 and 2, but as it does 3, it gives that message and doesn't sync

As a workaround you could try temporarily going offline while you sync.

I use Windows 7, and I'm syncing without issues here. This seems to be an odd one. 😕
