iTunes can't verify the identity of the server safebrowsing clients.google.com

Here's a thread that discusses safebrowsing - Safe browsing data? that may shed some light. Try clearing the iTunes cache and see if that has any effect. It sounds like some left over Safari data that is either out of date or no longer valid.

So where do I go to clear the iTunes cache? What if that doesn't work? Not being able to ma my music collection on my iPhone and iPad really stinks.

I do not understand why this popped up AFTER an iTunes update.

I have the exact same issue. Problem only started after the latest iTunes update and affects my iPod Touch.

Cleaning cache etc mentioned here didn't solve it. Why is this needed to sync music? I don't care about or use Safari for anything. The logic doesn't make sense.

Anyone else found a solution that worked?

You will find instructions for removing iTunes and a list of installers for the version of your choice. Keep in mind that if you have a device or devices that are running iOS 10.2, you need at least iTunes 12.5.4.42 in order to sync/restore them.

This appears to be some kind of iTunes/Safari issue. Some users have cleared Safari browsing history and that cleared it up. Since this seems to be related to version 12.5.5.5, consider rolling back to 12.5.4.42.

I solved this problem by eliminating google as my search engine and as my homepage. I was resetting my network settings constantly and was trying everything but this is what finally worked, do it in every browser you use.

Same with me. What the heck does iTunes have anything to do with Google?

Same thing has happened to me. Updated to latest Itunes and now this pops up the first time Itunes is opened. Clearing the cache doesn't solve it.

Does apple know about this problem? Or we are just going on at each other?
