An error occurred installing IOS 10.2.1

Not sure if this is anything to do with the problem but a couple of weeks ago on my iPhone 6 I was deleting a few pictures and then I watched all my pictures delete themselves before my very eyes, and then all of a sudden they started coming back (minus my albums). Since then like I say I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I cannot download the new 10.2.1 software to my phone.

I have reset network settings, deleted from storage the software update, done a refresh when you hold the buttton instead of turning the phone off, have over 1gb of space which is masses compared to the actual software update itself but it's still not working. I have deleted loads, apps, pictures just to make sure I had plenty of room. Every time I do it it says unable to install update, an error occurred installing iOS 10.2.1.

Can anyone help? Never had a problem before, my phones only a year old, on 02. The photo attached is when it was charging but I've tried with 100%, charging, not charging. I am just clueless what else I can do without wiping everything .... turn it off, on, retry later, it just won't work :(

I've been having this problem too! My phone deleted all my pictures (more than once) and then tried restoring them.

My phone runs so slow. I'll open up the lockscreen and sometimes it will freeze around 5 minutes, it freezes up when I try to open any app and then, sometimes, my phone will crash and restart itself.

I'm trying to update it but it just keeps saying I can't.

I am also having trouble with this- I tried to update it via my Mac aswell but I kept getting the same message 'unable to verify' because my phone wasn't connected to the internet even though it was.

As a result, not only can I Not update, but the phone keeps freezing, the emails keep crashing and my pictures won't show up. :( I'm a bit frustrated...

So after updating Pokemon Go.. still crashes and it started crashing less frequently in other apps too albeit infrequent.

Eventually I gave up, made sure my iPhone was backed up (I do backup to the iCloud)... did a full wipe of the device

"General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings".

Took a day to restore all my data and.. RESOLVED!! Yes 4 realz. No more crashing at all..

So I've been digging and from what I can deduce, the update messed up system files when there was not sufficient disk/flash space. Unfortunately this is the ONLY way I was able to fix it.. I tried the "Erase All Settings" option but no such luck.

Anyway.. Its been 3-4 days of using it a lot with PokemonGo too.. no crash at all.

PS.

Scouring the net I've read that iTunes backup, while less bandwidth intensive seems like it may migrate issue. 2ndly if the backup & restore still doesnt resolve it.. there is only one other way.. i.e. back up media, wipe device, reinstall all apps (pain 😟) and then restore media. Thankfully I did not need to do this.

My phone also won't let me update; my texts all deleted and when I began texting again, the messages didn't appear in chronological order; and my phone flashed all of my pictures as if they'd been deleted before they immediately reappeared. However, in addition to all that, last weekend, I went to text someone back and my iMessage app crashed. It's been spottily crashing every time I go to text someone back since then. I thought updating my phone would help, but I'm unfortunately unable to update, as each time I plug my phone into my Mac, my computer won't recognize my phone. I'm not sure what to do. I just updated my Mac, so hopefully that will make it possible to plug in.

I have my pictures totally disappeared as well, but under the storage i could still see their existence. I have to reboot the iphone a few times to see the pictures slowly restoring back but as i have about 20k pictures, it took **** long a while! Not only that, it will reboot by itself and start from 0 pictures many times. The sub albums were all gone, all pictures were only in camera roll album, selfies, burst etc. I quickly deleted many unused app to free up the space to about 1GB. I have never had this problem before. Also, i cannot seem to login to my icloud after this. I initially thought this was due to the fact that i have yet to install 10.2.1, i was so wrong after reading all your replies. Apple, do something.
