My iphone 6 only charges with only one fake cable.

Hello, my iphone 6 only charges with only one fake cable. other fake/original cables dont work, it even wont charge with my original cable and wall addapter. I have buyed a new iphone battery and a dock connector, i thought that was the problem, but still no effect. I wasted around 100 euro to replace the battery and dock connector, and it even didn't work! So i buyed a new Iphone lightning cable, and an wall adapter in the apple store, and that didn't work either.

I tried original cables from friends, but that didnt work to. So i plugged my iphone into the computer, and opened itunes and i downloaded the latest updates, I have my iphone restored / updated several times, but that didn't solve the problem. and the wierdest thing is, it only work with that one fake cable.. My iphone battery goes to 100 to 0% within 8 hours when i dont even use it. And when i use it, the battery will go empty in 5 hours...

I wasted alot of money on things that didnt work, so im not really happy about it..

so I really hope that you will come with an answer to fix this problem. The warranty is just three months past.

I got this issue fixed over the weekend. After going to 2 repairers who tried multiple replacement charger ports and batteries both said i needed a new motherboard.

By chance i tried a third repairer who said that the charging ic was the issues. This is located on the logic board. So this was replaced at $150NZD and now my phone is back to working mint again.

The Logicboard detects how much amperage is being put into the phone for charging and also how much battery charge is remaining. This is why half my chargers didnt work and my battery would drain so fast.

Hopefully others can get this part replaced and fix their issues too.

If you need to check your battery life/wear there is an app called Battery Life on the App Store that i found very useful.

Apple doesn't do component level repairs. They would replace the battery, but they would not have replaced the dock connector. And they would have made sure it worked before they handed it back to you.

Take it back to wherever you got it 'fixed' to begin with.

I have the same problem!!! and my fake cable is falling apart, with one side mental peeled up already. Only this cable, with the peeled side facing down could charge my iphone 6s. but this one won't allow me connect my iphone to PC or mac. i took it to genius bar, but they couldn't fix it only advice me to get a new phone... I wonder did you fix the problem yet?

I had the same problem. Seems to be rather common. I purchased aftermarket lightning cable for iPhone 7 and it has worked flawlessly. It will sync with iTunes also. Hope this helps. Before this cable my phone would only charge with a fake cable and it had to be turned the same way each time. I happened on this by accident after replacing the battery.

Yep...having the same issue. I did do a factory reset and it worked with the Apple charger for about a day then it stopped. I went back to the fake charger and it worked again. But now the battery takes forever to charge and after one 30 min phone call I am down from 100% to 30%.... 😟

Same problem . One fake cable charging my phone :( been in service to change battery and charging port and nothing changed, still only same fake cable charging and more than 50% fast battery dies :(

Same thing is happening to me, it all started after i plugged an accessory fan, everything was fine before that. i took it to the apple store and they told me the accessory damage a pin in the dock connector, I replaced the dock connector and still will work only with the one fake cable. The battery drains very quick and takes a long time to charge. I was going to replace the battery but now i don't know anymore as that didn't work for you either

It didn't help, but thanks for your message! the problem is that it only works with 1 cable, and that cable is fake. other Original cable's don't work, and with other fakes niether.

Do you know what brand of charger works for the smaller/ larger connectors? I have an iPhone 6 plus that only works with one charger and i dont know what kind of charger it is

I have the same problem with iphone5s and it happend after I charged it in the car with fake cable 😢 also my iphone gets hot when it charge

This is not a helpful answer. It seems to be a problem with the iPhone that Apple should warranty.
