My iPhone 7plus will not allow my RAV4 to read text message through the Bluetooth.

iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular (MM), iOS 7

Not sure if you have sorted this but having moved from an iPhone 6 to an 8+ had the same problem where texts not coming through to my car. Try this...

In settings / Bluetooth - find the device that is your car and tap on it. You then get the below screen and the ‘show notifications’ needs to be on for it to read texts.

I have the same problem with my new iPhone 6s (July2017). Won't read messages in my 2015 Ford Fusion, although my old android phone worked perfectly. All settings have been checked on my phone so that's not the problem. Could it be the latest version of the OS on my iPhone? I've read that I need CarPlay, but that's only available on 2017 Ford models with an upgrade for 2016's? Not available for 2015 models as far as I know? I am stumped.......what can I do?
