My iPhone 7plus will not allow my car to read my text messages I have verified that the phone is snyced wit the phi one the car shows the phone is connected

my iphone 6s plus would automatically read my message to me through my car interface (Ford CMax) but the iphone 7 plus doesn't and doesn't in my husbands VW Golf with Carplay. Would really like to resolve this.

Sometimes it will show the Read button and sometimes it only shows Ignore button. This is a feature I used a lot. I sure do miss it. I can't remember to ask Siri to do anything we always end up arguing because she can't understand me.

I have the same problem with my new iPhone 6s (July2017). Won't read messages in my 2015 Ford Fusion, although my old android phone worked perfectly. All settings have been checked on my phone so that's not the problem. Could it be the latest version of the OS on my iPhone? I've read that I need CarPlay, but that's only available on 2017 Ford models with an upgrade for 2016's? Not available for 2015 models as far as I know? I am stumped.......what can I do?

it can auto read your new message only on the car which support Carplay.

or you may use SIRI to help.

Just a suggestion, I tried this when I got my iPhonX. After connecting my phone to my car via Bluetooth, I then had to find my car name in the Bluetooth settings on my phone tap the “I” next to the name then select “Show Notifications” instantaneously as soon as I got a new txt it showed on my cars screen and read the message!

I think I may have figured it out, I was having Bluetooth issues so I disconnected completely and while I was reconnecting in the settings for my device the show notifications was turned off. Turn it on and give it a bit then voila alerts again!

My Avalon use to read out my 6+ but not the 7+ .m I missing something? Did they add car play to Toyota's? I really miss that feature. What happen Apple?

I tried everything that was suggested and then finally did the iOS update last night, and this morning it started working! I’m hoping it was a bug that was fixed with the update. Good luck to you.
