File size issue. The same photo that I view in Photos might be 10mg in size. When I attempt to send or view in finder it can be 10x that size - perhaps 120-140mg. Any idea what's going on?

I am seeing a huge file size variance on photo files in Photos vs the same photo in Finder. When I try to send or share I cannot as many of the photos are reading in excess of 100mb - and it appears its sending from Finder. in Photos the information shows in the area of 10mb. Makes no sense to me. Both are JPEG files I believe. I sure its something simple but........ Thanks for any suggestions.

I’m using version 10.12.3. I’ve wondered if its a library issue. Any advise on how I would approach that one. Thanks so much for your thoughts.

Leonie, Yes I am using an external editor, Liminar, so your explanation makes sense. I had not been using the cloud for storage but am setting up this morning. Thanks very much for this insight.

Thanks for the information, Léonie. None of my photos had been recently enough modified in an external editor to show the effect.

BTW, cn you recommend Luminar? I am using a few of the photo editing extensions from the same developer team, Intensify, FX Studio CK, and they are working very well.

Did setting up iCloud Photo Library resolve your size issues? Did the sizes normalize after synching?
