Numbers cell text illegible?

I have a Numbers doc that in the second column is text description. The cells are formatted to be text. Yet, when the spreadsheet is printed all the text in that column is garbage. Not letters, just symbols or squares, etc. Have tried changing text size but makes no difference. At present it is Helvetica, size 10 font. Has anyone run into this before? I have never seen it.

I just did this, transferred my copy over with new name. Same result when it opened and tried to print.

Yes, changing the font, as Barry suggested, corrected the problem. Seems likely something wrong with the Helvetica font. We will see if more information can come out of this. Thanks for your advice.
