My USB headset has always worked fine. However, after update to mac os sierra 10.12.4 the sound is chopped.
I hear the sound perfectly in all other outputs (HDMI, internal speakers and headphones).
I have restarted the system twice. I also killed all core audio processes, but no luck so far.

I couldn't find any driver for my headset in the web. Don't know how to start troubleshooting.
Have you tried contacting the manufacturer's tech support for assistance?
I have the same issue with a Microsoft LifeChat LX-6000 USB Headphone on an iMac.
same problem here with Logitech H340.
I ran my headset Logitech H340 through an cheap USB hub and it works.
I also tried it through the wired Apple keyboard USB port and it works too.
Not ideal but a workaround for now.
I was having this problem with the Logitech H340 headset but attaching it via a cheap USB 2.0 hub fixed the issue.

+1 this issue, I haven't tried a powered hub yet, but I can't listen to anything with my headset while its choppy.

Same issue here with a NuForce uDac2 headphone amp... Fine before 10.12.4, fine on same computer with other hard drive with 10.12.1 install
