Cellular data not working after iOS 10.3 update

I have a very perplexing problem:
After 10.2 update, cellular data became extremely flaky. (iPhone 7, T-Mobile) In some apps it didn't work at all, in others it would work for about a 10 second window after toggling Airplane Mode. The amount of cell signal doesn't doesn't matter. Turning off LTE and using 4G doesn't help.

To fix, I tried to:

  • reset network settings (didn't work)
  • fresh restore (didn't work)
  • Apple ran diagnostics (phone passed, Genius Bar had no idea what to do)

So they gave me a new iPhone 7. And it worked.

But now, with the new phone, the same exact thing has happened immediately after the 10.3 update. This is not my imagination, it is a night-and-day difference immediately after the update, just like last time.

My phone isn't jailbroken, I don't use a VPN, iOS betas, just a totally standard phone. This problem doesn't seem to be widespread, so how has it happened to me twice? It's totally confounding.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Update: I backed up all data to my PC using encrypted backup, following instructions found on the Internet, then completely erased my iPhone. After this, my iPhone went through the same process you deal with when you have a completely new phone. I then restored the data from the PC (additional frustration when Windows10/iTunes decided that there was no iPhone connected, which required me to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it). Fortunately, my data came back. At this point cellular function was completely lost. When someone called my phone, I heard nothing.

This required the 5th trip to the Sprint store. The associate there had a new trick, which consisted in applying yet another cellular update.

My phone now works (for the moment)...

I have the same problem. So frustrating. Just purchased a brand new iPhone 7 and Bluetooth and wifi button are greyed out. Not just that, the phone lags at times. When I go to settings, the page will turn completely blank and will not display anything. I have to click back to the home page and then go to settings multiple times before anything appears. For such an expensive product, things like this should not be occurring. Very disappointed in Apple!

Had exactly the same problem on my sons iPad which for some reason was not working on cel data.

Read all the forums and tips, nothing worked. Called T mobile they couldn’t help.

Then had a problem on my Mac, the date and time zone were wrong and it would not connect to WiFi. Manually disconnected the auto time update and then turned it back on and it is now fine.

Applied this logic to the iPad, turned off the date and time and then toggled it back on. Been working now for a week.
