Home Button unresponsive after 10.3 Update

Hi,

After updating my iphone 7 Plus 128 GB to iOS 10.3, my home button has become unresponsive.

When in an app, it sometimes takes more than one press of the home button to return back to the home screen.

On the failed press, I feel the haptic feedback so this means that the phone is registering the press, it's just not minimizing the app for some reason.

I have tried to reset the iPhone and also tried a full restore.

This only started after the update to 10.3.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

It is extremely frustrating.

Hi Gubbles,

What you just mentioned is absolutely correct.

Unfortunately i dont have a solution for you but wanted to check if you also from South Africa.

I went through several pages and realised that the problem is more prominent in South AfricA.

I have the same issue and stay in SA itself.

All I can advise you not to take your phone for repairs or assessment as people working at istore(deliberately or negligent) do not inform you that this is an issue which is faced by lot of users and will open your phone for assessment.Happened with me but I do not think their is an official resolution for it as of now.

Hi Josh,

Not yet! Hopefully the next iOS update will fix the unresponsive button issue, totally software-related at this point, as it always occurs on the first click.

Cheers,

Luca

Note: I actually made a comprehensive and repetitive click test activating the home button without touching the metal ring, using the Pencil tip for example, to avoid triggering the sensor in any possible way except for the "click" action. The issue makes just and only the first click to be missed by the system, regardless of the app involved (Apple- and not Apple-made). Therefore it shouldn't be linked to hardware issues, but software ones IMHO. I won't bring my iPad Pro to repair unless recalled by Apple, can't bear the annoyance at the moment, I need it at university.

Ya issue is resolved with last update

Now waiting for iOS 11

I hope it's better than android nugget

Because from last two years iOS is not doing better. As we expect

In iOS 10 nothing changes except search bar and widgets on lock screen. Ultimately we can say that they focused on lockscreen

But as we know this widgets are part of early android version like jelly beans

So my expectations are very high

We expend money for upcoming iOSversion in advance. Most expensive phone (iphone7)

It's very important developers will do some different. So that we can say iphone is totally changed with iOS11

After my phone ran out of power and was rebootet my home button started to work, but now it turns the screen on and off (just like somebody pressed the home button). The wierd thing is that it only does that when I lock the screen. If the phone is unlocked it does not do the same thing. The IOS 10.3.3 is ****** up and after being in contact with Apple Support I realized that they were completely hopeless and had no idea how to fix it. Their only answer is to restore the phone with iTunes and if that does not work they I should pay a licensed repairman to "fix" my phone. I like my iPhone but this issue has me wondering if I should go elsewhere in the future. I am so disappointed in Apple.
