Settings for acoustic guitar with pickups

What setting(s) should I use to record an acoustic guitar with pickups? I am going thru an audio interface, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. My first attempts have yielded a sound which is WAY, WAY too bass-heavy. I am playing finger-style, and I can hardly even hear the high strings. I'd like to get a balanced sound for my baseline, then tweak it later.

(The vocal track sounds just right, btw.)

Also, is it possible that if I monitor the recording while playing, the bass from the monitor is resonating in the guitar body, and compounding the problem? (Obviously, I can turn off the monitor if need be, or use headphones.)
