Apple TV turns on randomly after tvOS 10.2 update?

I have a 4th-gen Apple TV that had no issues prior to the tvOS 10.2 update. Now, the Apple TV will turn on randomly (and thereby also turning on the TV in the bedroom) throughout the day/night and shows an error message that says, "This AirPlay connection requires iOS 7.1 or later" and it goes on to list some other requirements. I am not attempting to use AirPlay at all when this happens. I have tried restarting the Apple TV, signing out and back in to iCloud and it still happens.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So all of the Twonky and Plexy answers do not apply to me. I have only iOS and MacOS devices, all updated to the latest everything. Nothing is trying to connect anywhere, and my network is secure so no one in my neighborhood can be contaminating it with connection attempts. In fact, I have Airplay turned off on my other devices. I have no media servers. I have 2 MBPs and an iPhone and an older iPad that has not been turned on in about 4 months. That is the extent of my technology other than my AppleTV, TV and a BluRay player (sorry ;-) Yet this morning, again, and when I came home from work today, AppleTV turned on my TV, sat for however long and went to sleep leaving my TV on all day with "no signal".

Obviously something changed in the latest update because whether any of the Plex or other apps that did not cause this before now are? Apple changed something, to the detriment of AppleTV users. Please address this???

Hi Von_Neumann. The problem is that this 3rd-party software uses a port scan to locate network services. The tvOS 10.2 update causes Apple TV to wake up when connection is made to one of its ports. Apple provides the Bonjour protocol for service discovery without port scan, but these implementers fail to use it. You can use the feedback link to let Apple know that this is a problem for you. You might also inform the provider of your NAS.
