Wi-Fi and GPS not working after iOS 10.3 update

I updated my iPhone 6 a couple of days ago to iOS 10.3 and since then no Wi-Fi networks show up in the list, but I am still connected to my home network and any other ones that I already had saved. No new networks show at all.

Also, since then, the GPS has stopped working completely. I downloaded an app that shows you which satellites you're receiving, and it shows as none. All the map applications no longer work other than pick me up where I am via cell tower and Wi-Fi signals.

I don't think it's a hardware thing as it happened instantaneously with the update.

Any ideas?

Hi Jimmer,

I have the same issues. iPhone 6. Since update no more GPS and very shoddy wifi connectivity.

This is ridiculous! Apple needs to hotfix this as soon as possible. Perfectly good hardware made unusable by an update. It's almost sue-worthy.

I know, right.

I was given the choice to live with it or replace it with another 6. I caved and replaced it. At a price not very friendly to the situation - Apple insists it's half the price of a new one so I should feel grateful, but in all fairness, THEY are the ones that broke it in the first place.

What infuriated me more was that I couldn't upgrade it to anything else but the same one. I thought to myself at that point 'well at least I can do it later through the trade-in program'. So I walked in to the Apple Store and asked about just that.

The answer was no. 'Sorry sir but this is a refurbished model, we won't buy that one back'. So I paid around 200 usd for a replacement, while my old phone was worth 100 usd to them, and they won't buy back the replacement.

I'm really angry with apple. Break my phone, shake me down for 200 bucks and rat me out of the 100 bucks trade in value. How is this good business, like, really.

Hello Jimmer and others. I have a similar problem with my IPAD and am on iOS 10.3.2. Reading through the support responses and other chatter on this topic, one item stands out which I can't do and wondered if others have the same problem.

A number of support have said to ensure that the timezone is set correctly and I have found that I can't enable Automatic Timezone (settings/general/datetime) when set on the spinner kicks in and it never enables.

Can others advise if they have similar

Update.. I wrote in an earlier forum that i'd tried everything to fix my GPS issue.

And came to the conclusion that it must be hardware related. After reading that

changing the GPS antenna was the way forward, I bit the bullet and took it in to

my local repair shop. He wasn't convinced it would fix it but as he was only going to charge

£35... so two hours later one new gps antenna/ribbon and one working Satnav. yeehah!!!

My issue seem to be more common on iphone 6 probably due to poor components. I think updating ios

is just a red herring. Just to reiterate my issue. GPS positioning was erratic and more or less

unusable on satnav as it never seemed to quite know exactly where I was. I.m not saying this is a fix

all but if it sounds like your issue, might be worth it. there are plenty of forums out there with the same suggestion,

hence my risking my £35 of my hard earned pounds.

I guess I was slow to notice but updated to iOS 10.3.3 aug 2 2017 and also now having wifi & gps issues. Apple totally denies its them and tells you to get a new phone. I read if you replace the gps flex cable antennae it may work again but Apple won't do it. They tell you to get a new phone. It is ridiculous that they have you by the xxxxs! So frustrating. Makes me want to switch to another company. 😩

This is driving me nuts, I have been trying everything in isolation on this and I am losing my mind. This is BS, it is the update, I have done everything at least twice to no avail. It started right after the update and all of my settings are exactly the same as my wife's iPhone 6 and my work iPhone 6 which really drives me crazy.

And this also explains after reading all of the earlier post why my BT is so spotty, I have no issues with any of my other devices. it is all connected.

I have always bought apple products, I have 3 iPads, 5 iPhones (active) and my MacBook, after reading how everyone is getting the shaft on this with no fix from Apple, I am considering other options.

Same issue with my iPhone 6. After trying everything apple support said I was given an appointment to visit the Apple store in Kingston in UK. Genius Bar guy said to replace but shell out £300 for no fault of yours. I called support again and they said upgrade to iOS 11 which I did but problem is still there.

would try to resolve amicably one more time as it’s not fault that the upgrade has messed up my phone - it’s like a virus being sent to my phone from Apple and asking to pay to fix it by getting a replacement. If not left with an option, I will be speaking to a lawyer.
