Beats X won't turn on after charge

After I've charged my BeatsX for at least a minimum of 30 minutes, they fail to turn on.

As it's charging, I can see the red LED slightly pulsating

But when I try turn the headphones on the LED flashes 3 times.

Are these faulty???

Same problem here. Worked fine one minute, next minute wouldn't charge. Beats X were only 1 month old with normal usage and now they're done. Sending them back to Apple. What the **** is going on here? These were pushed back several months for what reason? Apple needs to get their act together cause this is definitely unacceptable...

Just checked the warranty:- Under this warranty, you will be able to direct your claims to Apple even in situations where you purchased the Apple Product from a third party. If a defect arises during the Warranty Period, Apple, at its option will (1) repair the Product at no charge using new parts or parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability, (2) exchange the Product with a product with equivalent functionality formed from new and/or previously used parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability or with your consent, a product that is at least functionally equivalent to the product it replaces, or (3) refund the original purchase price.

So to me that states that they should fully refund me or exchange for a new product. We shall see.

Tell you what it hard work. Have been on the phone for over 30 minutes so far and getting nowhere. I have stated the warranty back to them and they seem to not to want to honour it.

The silly thing is that they constantly are telling me that I have to send them back and then they will send me another set once they have looked at them. It would be about a week to get the box to send back, then no idea on how long it would take for them to look at and then have to wait for the replacement to be sent back, I bet it would be at least a month. That is no good to me as I am away for a holiday soon and the other thing is they seem to think that they box can be posted through the letter box. Well that is not true. The earphone box is 7 centimetres high and my letter box is only 5 centimeters so yet again I am being inconvenienced as I would have to probably go somewhere to collect the parcel. What I cannot understand is I can demand a refund which I am entitled to as it is under warranty and clearly states it on there, so that is £129.95 back in my account. Then I can just buy a new pair at the same time. Yet they are trying to get me to send them back and be without them for god knows how long. Absolutely terrible customer service.

Exactly the same problem. I have had beatsx for 3 months and all of a sudden it dies on me. Would charge, would not turn on. Feel terribly cheated by Apple. Having paid 150$ I would expect the earphones to be one of the best of not the best. I have sent mine to geek squad as I had bought mine at bestbuy. My 50$ plantronics backbeat go did way better than this having lasted 3 years...

Hey, I have just replaced mine bought from a third party and have lost the receipt. Under Apple's One Year Warranty they can check the purchase date of your Beats from a serial number and give you a replacement. Hence they are selling from December, there is no way that they are out of warranty. Just contact Apple or any Apple Authorized Service like I did.

I already contact the apple support again and this is what they said "I am unable to say why other people may or may not have been able to get theirs repaired without having the proof of purchase since I am unable to look into their individual cases to see the reasons behind this or to validate if this is factual." and i schedule a phone call to get this problem addressed. hope they can fix my beatsX

ALERT TO EVERYONE WITH THIS ISSUE: IT IS FIXABLE! I just had this problem today and took to these forums for answers but nobody was able to figure it out until now. I did attempt to restart by holding down the power and volume (-) buttons down until I saw the slow 5 red blinks and then 3 quick white ones. I tried a good few times until I went to my Bluetooth settings and I repeated restarting it, and as soon as the red blinking started I tapped on my device name "Franc's Beats X" to connect to it via Bluetooth. Instead of letting go I held on the buttons and instead of getting 3 quick white blinks I got a number of slow ones and I was able to reconnect to my headphones. I hope anyone who had a problem with their Beats are able to read this and solve their problem.

I TRIED ALL THESE ATTEMPTS -

I tried all the things you stated here and none of them worked on mine. I also tried them again when on the phone with Apple, they made me do it while on the phone with them, and nothing worked.

It's obviously working on some but not others. Also, the blinking lights never happened on mine, they just died in under an hour of use on the 31st day of owning them with no indication as to why or warning that it was going to happen.

I'm thinking there may be two different problems that both lead to the death of the headsets.

That's what I'm saying!!! $150 then these problems should not exist!

I went with these for longevity and because I trust the Apple brand but this has put a sour taste in my mouth, not because there's an issue (I understand stuff happens, glitches and such), but because they refused to acknowledge that this is an issue that's seemingly common based on all the forums. They had the audacity to tell me mine was the "first report on record of this happening." What!?!? I saw 10+ other cases before I even called them yet all they would do is deflect on the call.

Hopefully this is permanently fixed so others don't experience this nonsense on a top tier product.

I had the same issue and I resolved in this way.

I reset the beatsX holding for 10sec the power button+volume down. I restarted the iphone 7 holding down the power button + volume down button till it restarted. Then I paired again the beatsX holding down the power button until the pairing window appeared on my iphone7 (on older iphones hold down power button + home button until the phone restarts).

Now beats x are playing.. let's see if the issue happens again.

Hope this helps.

I ordered my first pair of the Beats X three days after they released and received them a few days later. For about a month and a half, I used them and absolutely loved them. I was devastated though when one night i tried to turn them on and use them, that they wouldn't turn on. Afterwards, I charged them until it said they had a full battery and just left the be for a day. When went to use them the next night, they still didn't power on, so I contacted Apple Support through the chat method to find out what I needed to do. First they tried to help me troubleshoot the problem, but none of the methods worked. In the end, I sent my Beats back to Apple, and three days later, I received them in the mail. Overall, the process was not difficult, and at the end of the day, i was just excited to get them back.

Last night, however, I had a scare where I thought they were not going to turn on, so I let them sit overnight and this morning, they turned on. I hope it will never happen again, but if it does, I will definitely use Apple Support again.

just going to add my +1 to this pile- so frustrating. they've been working fine for about a month now then last not just stopped for no reason. the white light comes on when plugged in but nothing else. have tried every suggested reset combination and i don't get anything at all- not even some of the flashing light responses a few people have mentioned.

for the record my 5 year old wireless plantronics and are still doing amazing. #thanskapple
