Beats X won't turn on after charge

After I've charged my BeatsX for at least a minimum of 30 minutes, they fail to turn on.

As it's charging, I can see the red LED slightly pulsating

But when I try turn the headphones on the LED flashes 3 times.

Are these faulty???

Same problem here. Worked fine one minute, next minute wouldn't charge. Beats X were only 1 month old with normal usage and now they're done. Sending them back to Apple. What the **** is going on here? These were pushed back several months for what reason? Apple needs to get their act together cause this is definitely unacceptable...

I'm going to add another post here and see if it will get Apple/Beats' attention.

My BeatsX abruptly starting doing this yesterday and nothing in this comment thread has helped. I spoke with Beats customer service on the way home from vacation this morning, and they did everything BUT address what might be causing the problem. When I asked directly about the possibility of a software update to fix it if it were a bug, I got ignored.

I'll be taking them by the Apple Store either tonight or tomorrow. I will be showing them this thread so they see that this issue isn't just me. And I will be asking them directly about why this problem is happening and if there is a software update in the foreseeable future.

I have this problem too! Orange light comes on when charging and when I pressed the On/Off button, the orange light flashes 3 times and then nothing. Problem is that Inlive in Singapore but I bought this pair 3 months ago at an Apple Reseller in Macau. I can't find the receipt anymore. Can I get a replacement if I walk into the Apple Store in Singapore?

Just adding my experience with this...

They worked beautifully for two months until they went completely dead.

Took them into the Apple Store who said they needed to be replaced with a new pair. You'd think this would be an easy swap as they had more in-stock, but no, they had to be sent back to the warehouse first. They couldn't give me a replacement in-store.

I was told this would take 3-5 working days.

Three weeks, and several calls/chats with support later, I still didn't have a replacement. It was nearly a month before they arrived and I never received an update or explanation as to the delay.

A staff member at the Apple Store I have spoken with since said they had experienced the same problem. And the delay in getting a replacement was due to the sheer volume they were having to process.

Well, they are going to have to process another one...I've had the new pair for less than two weeks and the same issue has happened again.

After contacting apple support over web chat and being told I would have to send back my beats x I decided to attend my local apple store. One of the geniuses there completed a few short tests and agreed a replacement was required but they had none in stock. I've been advised I will have to wait while a replacement pair are ordered which could take a few weeks. I'll have to return to the store once they arrive.

Here is the youtube link of the issue I have been experiencing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoFJ_0fLf3s

After some fiddling I managed to get the headphones powering on correctly again however, each time I would wind the neckband up and put them away in the silicone case they would stop working. I would have to bend the neckband at various points near the batteries repeatedly trying the power button until they powered on correctly again.

Since I've resorted to storing the headphones without wrapping or bending the neckband and so far I've not experienced any further power on issues. This has been over the last few days.

So if any of you have experienced the power on issues shown in my vid (try to power on and power light flashes white 3 times) try flexing and bending the neck band near to the battery modules until the headphones power on correctly then once they do make sure you store them in a way that doesn't wind the neckband in any way (basically store them as they would naturally lie on a table) and see if they power on issue comes back. I've resorted to putting mine into the laptop slot in my bag where they can remain completely unwound and I haven't had any issues since.

I'm guessing a part of the circuitry in the neckband where it meets the battery modules is loosening as users wind the headphones up to store them in the silicone case. If anyone else can get this going and give it a try it would be good to see some feedback.

You'll have to really persist when trying to get the headphones working again after the three white flashes but once they start working try the storage method above.

Well hopefully this will help. I'm a little discouraged that it may take awhile for my new pair to come in, as I've already sent mine off to be examined, to which I will likely be sent a new pair instead of my original pair, just fixed. It's a shame that the method in which you are supposed to put the earphones in the case is what bricks them, when it's supposed to protect them. My backpack has a valuables pocket which I usually stuffed them in, and the battery/bluetooth housing laid flat and didn't curl inside it, so I guess I'll just have to start doing that all the time. Hopefully I won't get water on them.

So I just got mine back today. I thankfully only had to wait a week, even if it was 2 days over the promised time period. I guess I'm just in an area of the country that isn't as congested with returns. But still, that's really saying something, given what others in this thread have experienced with wait times.

The email I was sent to pick them up said that they were giving me MY REPAIRED pair of BeatsX. But when the guy at the Apple Store gave me my Beats, WHATTYA KNOW! It's a replacement, just like everyone else in this thread.

When I asked what was wrong with them, he said, "Unfortunately we can't know anything after we send them off to the warehouse."

When I brought up this thread, he said, "Unfortunately we can't acknowledge it until Apple thinks it's a frequent enough issue." Well, given what many of you have said, I would think it's a "frequent enough issue" if some people are having to wait up to two months to get their Beats returned.

Apple/Beats' lack of transparency is the crappiest part about them as a company. Because, good god, why should anyone EVER conceive that an Apple or Beats product has a flaw. Imagine what the masses would think!

I am going to try what @ukbilleh said. If they brick again and Apple/Beats doesn't come out with a fix, I will never purchase a pair of Beats again and I will be switching to JayBird. You here me Apple? YOU WILL LOSE A CUSTOMER.

Same thing happened to me last month I bought the Beat X. It became my favorite accessory I always use and wear it everyday, and then after 3 weeks of using It was completely dead. I just put it in the case, maybe the flexform cable is faulty, I send it back to the store that i bought it from and then they tell me they will replace it in 3-4 weeks. After a day I bought my 2nd pair from different store because I really love the Beats X. My 2nd pair I use it now for 3 weeks without bending the flexform cable and its working fine. I love this product. I think the problem really is the design of the flexform cable just dont bend it or put it in the case and it will last long.. Today i got my replacement for my 1st Beats X.. Now I have 2 Beats X that is working.. lets see if this happen again.. I spend $300 for the 2, because I really love the product, if this happen again I will never buy again Beats product!

Same here.

Bought it on April 4th as my birthday gift via a third-party seller and I lost my recipt.

It has already happened for two times last time I plugged in for 8hrs then it came back alive. but this time it's totally dead. Will I get a new one or refund if I walk in to the Apple Store in Taiwan?
