Beats X won't turn on after charge

After I've charged my BeatsX for at least a minimum of 30 minutes, they fail to turn on.

As it's charging, I can see the red LED slightly pulsating

But when I try turn the headphones on the LED flashes 3 times.

Are these faulty???

Same problem here. Worked fine one minute, next minute wouldn't charge. Beats X were only 1 month old with normal usage and now they're done. Sending them back to Apple. What the **** is going on here? These were pushed back several months for what reason? Apple needs to get their act together cause this is definitely unacceptable...

Same thing happened to me. One day they would just randomly disconnect and show an alternating red-white light, which isn't even described anywhere in the manual. When I charge them they show the normal LED lights, so you'd think they work. But no, fat chance, when I unplug them the light vanishes and I can't turn them on. It's only when I bend the "flexform" cable into an awkward position that the same red-white alternating combination comes which means I can't even use them. It's infuriating that the way you're SUPPOSED TO pack them is what destroys them. I got them as a present so exchanging them really isn't an option. Gonna have to shell out money then I guess. ******* thank you, Apple!

Sterling,

There are almost 1000 people on this post that are having the very same issue. How many does it take for Apple to step up and admit there's a fundamental problem with this product?

Beats X are certainly not cheap, at $150 retail, and for them to start failing within 2 months of purchase is unacceptable. There are certain people here who are on their 3rd pair....surely that can't be profitable for Apple?

I had the exact same issue! Apple customer service were great in getting an exchange out to me but the replacement pair also did the same! I was so upset about this I just got my money back in the end. It's such a shame as apart from this massive issue they are a fantastic pair of headphones. I purchased a iPhone 7+ from an Apple Store recently and I talked to the staff member that was serving me about my issues with beats x, the member of staff was nice enough to have a chat with someone on the Genius Bar that deals with audio about the issue I had and apparently he had never heard of it before.... it seems with this chain of replies I'm not alone and this is a widespread issue Apple desperately needs to address.

Just to follow up, I had handed in my Beats X to the Apple Store on Thursday of last week and they sent them away to the repair depot. The depot did a full replacement instead of a repair and I got them in under a week.

Unlike the retail box, these headphones had 0% charge and they needed a full charge. Just waiting on that now before firing them up.

Sure enough, mine have done the same thing after a month or so. Miffed as only used them about half a dozen times. Took them back to John Lewis and was told had to go for repair as they were older than 30 days and would be up to 2 weeks to repair!

Left with no headphones, Apple Music subscription I can't really utilise and little confidence that the problem won't occur in the repaired or replacement unit....not good!!!

Mine stopped working as well, probably about a week or two ago. I hadn't used them since I was busy.

When I plug them in they are charging, and my Mac recognizes them using the Beats Updater tool, and a white LED turns on. When I unplug them and try to power them on, nothing happens, and I even try to do a hardware reset, but nothing happens, not even red LED. Like the power button, or some wiring might be broken.

I have same problem, but not after charge. Everytime i get beats X out from carrying case, i cant turn them on. Just white LED flashes 3 times. But after few minutes, everything works. Its annoying. When i stay them out of the case there is no problem. So i suppose that this have something to do with magnets in the buds. Because, when they are in the case, the buds (and also the magnets) are very close to the battery and the logical "part".

Seeing that many people have this kind of problem, this must be manufacturing defect.

Same problem here after 4 months. Really liked them but this is unacceptable. I went back to Ginaz Apple wanted to check out yesterday, but bar was fully booked. Luckly I am in Japan they have pickup service here, so they are coming to pick up today. If this is an known issue, hopefully they have fixed it otherwise, I worry the replacement will go bad after awhile ....

Same here. I have had my BeatsX for a month. Have looked after them carefully. LOVED them - and then suddenly they stopped working.

I contacted Apple Support and have been told that they will send a box to return them, as soon as possible and the headset will be repaired in five days. (This box hasn't arrived yet - I rang on Friday!) I looked up Genius Bar appointments as I am fortunate to live somewhere with a local branch. The next appointment is on Sunday ... I go away on Saturday. Given that I paid A HUNDRED AND TWENTY NINE POUNDS for this product, I now feel like a total idiot for having wasted my money. I am not rich and this was a real indulgence for me. I bought from Apple, because I thought that they were the best, and to be fair have in the past found their products expensive, but worth it. After reading that this isn't an isolated problem, I'm going to think more carefully before spending more on something because I believe that Apple = Excellent.
