"Blocked Plug-In" when opening pdf from Safari

I have installed OSx 10.12.4 on two machines and since then I cannot open any pdf from a link in an email. I get the "Blocked Plug-In" message. I'm using Safari web browser and gmail via the browser.

Before installing 10.12.4 on my second machine I confirmed I did not have an issue then after installing I had the issue so I'm assuming it is linked with this latest OSx update?

Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

Try un-installing and then re-installing.

Thank you for your answer. I just did that and it still does not work. It says "Blocked Plug-in".

I read this article but unfortunately didn't help. I've switched on all the plug ins but still have the issue.

Yeah I had to download firefox. I chatted online with support but they knew nothing of this issue.

Try right clicking the link. That works for me.

Same problem here.

I can open a pdf with Firefox.

But not with Safari.

Firefox wins!

Same thing happened to me since the most recent Apple update. I was on the phone for hours with Apple and they do not have a solution- My solution was to use Firefox instead of Safari

Unfortunately the "right click" is not working on my Mac. I can't open the attachments on gov webpage.

I just upgraded my iMac to new OS Sierra . It is really frustrating

This works when there is a direct link to the pdf, but not when the link is javascript. Does anyone know of another solution?

Many websites do not allow right click, and some (like the one I am trying to use) it is a java button which you can't right click either.

Have to go to Firefox. Second time this month I have discovered an issue that has forced me to use Firefox.
