I spent hours cleaning cache and moving everything to an external drive to free up memory on my macbook air. Results were good until I bought clean my mac/genesis. Now I'm back to heavy memory usage. And how can I get rid of 'other'?

As it happens, I don't like the Mail application so, I use the browser window. I became very familiar with just how much memory it uses. My solution was to use the notifications from my phone to let me know when to check it.

Yes, I can see that, but I have no idea why it is here, I never asked for it and have no need of it, my suggestion is the same as before, nuke and pave,

The screen shot you posted above shows 71GBs free out of 120 total....

Go to Apple menu > About This Mac > Storage > take a screen shot of it and post it here.

And that agrees with the Etrecheck report. So storage space is not the problem. There is so much junk on the machine I still think an erase and reinstall is indicated.
