After looking around for ways to open itunes without it crashing I found a way.
If you go to a song in Finder (right click + open with itunes) it'll open itunes without any crashes and then you can use itunes normally.
For some reason opening itunes with the app button is buggy.
Hope this helped anyone having the same problem.

Your workaround solution to open a song file without using the iTunes icon has worked for me. I expect that we should get a fix for this 12.6.1 update in the near future.

Thanks for the workaround, it worked like a charm. Never had an issue with an iTunes update til last night. Hopefully they release a patch for it soon.

I really couldn't use the 12.6.0.x builds on one of my Windows boxes, so had to reinstall 12.5.5.5. There's no reason you cannot do something similar.

No Windows. Mac user. The work around launch via a left click on a song title in finder works, but really, should I have to do that? Steve said, "IT JUST WORKS". Well, now it doesn't always.
