iOS 10.3.2 update drains battery

I have an iPhone 7 Plus. I have had no battery life issues until updating to iOS 10.3.2. Prior to the update I would get a full day of use. I could go from 6 am to 11 pm and still have 20% battery life left. Since updating to 10.3.2, I am at 50% battery life by midday with light use, and need to charge before leaving work for the day. Anyone else having this same issue since upgrading to iOS 10.3.2?

Hello pechapa,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that since updating to iOS 10.3.2 your battery life has decreased. New updates have new features that can use more battery life than previous software versions. I recommend using the steps from the following article to maximize your battery life:

I believe that I may have found the answer to the battery drain issues with iOS 10.3.2 and why Apple has not answered any of us. There's really not an issue.

I was very upset and reverted back to iOS 10.3.1 my battery issues disappeared. But it still bothered me receiving requests to update from my iPhone 7 plus on AT&T continuously to upgrade to 10.3.2.

So I did the following. Backed up my phone with iTunes and archived it. Just in case. Charged my phone to 100%. Then did the update. I'm now running iOS 10.3.2 with no battery drain issues at all for serveral days.

I have exactly the same problem. Hot battery Runs out by 5 pm All personal music app disappears iTunes disappears

Suddenly the phone has become a nightmare of extras

I've dumped as many apps as I can and switched everything off

Is there some kind of leak where even if notifications are switched off submenu notification choices in each app are still running?

Now too complicated to troubleshoot without a visit to an Apple Store

However I just use the phone as a top quality B Roll video camera

Everything else except internet and mail are not much use?

Yes this is the issue of the ios 10.3, you can downgrade your iPhone by using the backup that you create in the iOS 9 version. Anyway, isn't that iPhone 7 plus installed ios 10 inside then why your iPhone 7 plus need to update to iOS 10?

My iPhone 7 never had battery issues until this update. Not only that, my wife's iPhone 6 is having the same issue now. Both phones had no problems until this update. It's time to accept the fact that Apple is being very careless with the updates. You don't have to be a "grassy knoll" kook to believe this. Putting customers down on these forums for their comments is immature! I bet we have more to do during our days than gripe about Apple products! Just fix it!

Yes. I took my (previously very reliable) iPhone 5s to the Apple Store yesterday about this issue. They ran diagnostics and confirmed that the battery itself is fine and that the problem is the software, without actually acknowledging that it was caused by the software update. They claimed that a reset to factory settings would fix the problem (it didn't) but said there was another problem with the auto-rotate function that wouldn't be fixed by the re-set (also not true - that function is now fine) but since it's out of warranty, they very generously offered me a $70 trade-in on a new phone. Cheers Apple, thanks for nothing! I'm now carrying a portable re-charger around with me wherever I go.

Hoping to add to the clamor and get this fixed. Battery drainage on iPhone 6 terrible since 10.3.1. I was hoping that Apple would address this problem with 10.3.2 and instead saw even worse performance. With limited usage, I have to charge every 1 to 6 hours (which is hardly feasible during a 24 hour hospital workday). Moreover, I have a daughter with severe food allergies and hate to be without a working phone. I can no longer trust the phone to hold a charge for the limited time it takes me to go and pick her up from school unless the phone is fully charged (100%) when I have left home. The battery often drops from 100% to 67% to 40% and then frequently goes black mid-task. When it does come back on, it shows 1-7% charge available. But then when it is plugged in, it goes back to 40% immediately. Please fix this problem! If I have to buy a new smartphone over this, for the first time since 2008, it will not be an Apple.
