iOS 10.3.2 update drains battery

I have an iPhone 7 Plus. I have had no battery life issues until updating to iOS 10.3.2. Prior to the update I would get a full day of use. I could go from 6 am to 11 pm and still have 20% battery life left. Since updating to 10.3.2, I am at 50% battery life by midday with light use, and need to charge before leaving work for the day. Anyone else having this same issue since upgrading to iOS 10.3.2?

Hello pechapa,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that since updating to iOS 10.3.2 your battery life has decreased. New updates have new features that can use more battery life than previous software versions. I recommend using the steps from the following article to maximize your battery life:

My phone seems to be getting worse. This morning it was fully charged and I unplugged it. Within 10 seconds my phone shutoff and needed 10 minutes of charging to turn back on. I'm now required to be 100% plugged in at all times. This is beyond unacceptable. I'm waiting for important calls and don't even take my phone out anymore. Can't believe there's no fix dates yet

I updated like 2 days ago (I didn't, the phone did it on its own). I have since then had HORRIBLE battery issues. I have had my phone on the charger all day today, because I woke up with it on 3%. Now it is 4:22 pm...and it's only on 25% after charging ALL DAY. Something is definitely linked to that. I don't care what anyone else says, there have been known issues with battery life and updates before, and it is no different now. I know that is what happened. There's no way this many people are having the same issue with the battery after the update, and it not be linked.

Yup! I'm having to charge my battery at least twice a day since the update 😡

I also don't accept the response that the new update has new features that "can" use more battery life - ive had no issues with my ipad battery after the update and from what I've read it's solely an iPhone issue.

We fork out hundreds of dollars on apple products and THIS is what we are left with - an expensive brick

come on Apple!! You guys stuffed up!! Own it and sort it please!

I might be jumping to a conclusion but having the same issue I also noticed when I check where my battery usage is going it says mail is at the top running in the background even though I have background turned off. I also noticed when mail is open it quickly and continuously switches between "checking for mail" and updated. I'm working on the theory that if I close mail by double tapping home and swiping up on the mail window it will stop running in the background. So far it appears to be working and battery is lasting longer.

Chiming in with same problem, mine on a 6S. I even had one of the units that qualified for a new replacement battery, which I did a couple of months ago. No battery issues until 10.3.2, and without any different apps I had an instant an insane battery drain issue. I restored, I turned off any background refresh, and have been monitoring my battery usage per app. Nothing unusual in usage, it is 100% related to 'upgrading' to 10.3.2. I really really hope Apple addresses this soon, because this is a problem.

I went to the Apple store and they concluded I had a swollen battery (iPhone 6). Measurement also learned it was in bad condition. I got the phone replaced for a similar one with a new battery. I was charged the cost of a new battery (app 90€).

Restored my backup with all settings and apps as before on the bad phone. It seems to behave normal now (on 50% after a 12 hour days use) and I hope all will stay fine...

I'm actually happy to find out why my battery is draining so quickly. I was thinking I needed a new phone. I just checked to see what apps were using my battery and for the last 24 hours and last 7 days, the greatest usage is Messages. I counted, and I have sent and received less than 100 Messages, including 6 photos, in the last 24 hours, and I have to keep my phone plugged in whenever possible so it doesn't go dead. I also have started having trouble with my screen freezing.
