apple watch logo fade to red when trying to turn on and will do nothing else???

So I bought two series one watches and my son didn’t charge his for 2 weeks while away at school and now it loops and the apple log turns red, not an exclamation point, de we went to the store and they said they would fix it for free.... a week later he received his watch back I repaired and they wanted 199.00, they couldn’t give any reason just “hardware damage, the watch has never gotten wet or dropped, not even a scratch. So we went back the the store and couldn’t get passed the 199.00 runaround... they couldn’t even tell us what “damage” there is!

I got the same exact problem with both of my apple watches. Left it unattended for a few weeks. Then go charge it, nothing happens, just shows the apple logo, then turns red and fades away.

Contacted the apple support, same with most reported here. They wanted prepayment for the service. The customer rep told me that i should not leave the watch unattended for a few weeks, which will cause damage to the battery. ***? An watch unattended for a few weeks will be completely dead? What kind of quality is that?

Anyway, he said i can send the watch in for diagnosis and they will let me know what the problem is before i make a decision to fix it or not. But i still need to prepay for it and they will hold the payment first. If i decide not to do anything, they will return the watch and payment. I prepaid $92.

I'm sending in one of the two to give it a try. I have to say that i'm very disappointed by the Apple customer service. It's clearly a common and known issue based on the thread here.

Hello, I went on vacation and left my watch off for a month. I tried to recharge and got the white to red Apple fade as well. Did Apple fix your watch?

This happened to mine & it is a series 1.

I live in Turkey same issue and they tell me to buy new watch since its out of warranty.. i will never ever buy apple product again. They are totally unreliable!

Tara can you confirm if the iwatch was under warranty or if the 1 yr warranty had already expired? I have the same problem but am out of warranty :)

I had the same issue

You don’t call any number. You have to take it to the Apple store. I took mine and they sent it off to repair facility and they decided to replace it.

If you setup a call back from Apple support they will replace it no cost. They told me it was a software problem. I did not have to go to the store.
