i am trying to create a new apple ID. Everytime i enter the verification code it fails and say, "email code verification faile." what can i do?

So, it wasn't the Apple ID that was signed into Messages, it was just an email that you added to the Send/Receive list?

Exactly so. It was the additional e-mail, I added to the send/receive list in iMessages .

When I used a 'fresh' email address, the verification was done in one attempt.

Apple password goes type in your password & verification code together

No spaces.

It's not about not receiving the email. I receive the email, I copy the code (the numbers) to be used for verification and paste it in the Verification code form from iTunes and I always get "email verification code failed". And resending the code has no effect.

So, any other thoughts/solutions?

same problem. I am a very experienced user. I enter all my info. do the captcha and click next. I then get an email. I enter the code into the little boxes and first time it says unknown error occurred. when I try to enter again it send me back to the enter your name screen. I tried on multiple devices multiple times. I used regular protocol like restart computer, clear cache, etc. keep getting this same error.

Same for me - trying to set up a new AppleID for my son and it simply doesn't work when I type in the 5 digit code.

I have made sure that no logged-in user on the PC is already logged in to iCloud or iTunes, etc., so can't understand what it causing the problem.

I have the feeling that somehow wrong verification codes are sent. Could someone check that?

Yes, having the same issue. Yesterday with captcha, today with verification code over email. Receiving the codes, but they are refused. Did you find a solution? Thanks!

tried to click helpful. most interfaces you can click helpful and box opens that allows you to choose helpful or not helpful. Just to be clear this post was not helpful in any way.

Enter your Apple id & password in the box & the verification code together

No spaces.

I eventually tried a different email address and that worked the first time. Not a great solution though...
