I can't download pics to my PC from iphone 6s!

It used to be so simple by clicking on my device under "my computer" and choosing which pics I want to download. All it shows is internal storage (which is full and I can't figure out how to delete those either!). Everything has the latest updates. What is going on?????? So frustrating. I was about to buy an apple watch but reconsidering.

Hello Cartap

here are some steps to Import photos to PC

Import to your PC

You can import photos to your PC by connecting your device to your computer and using Windows Photo Gallery:

  1. Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes on your your PC. Importing photos to your PC requires iTunes 12.5.1 or later.
  2. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your PC with a USB cable.
  3. You might need to unlock your iOS device using your passcode.
  4. You might also see a prompt on the iOS device asking you to Trust This Computer. Tap Trust or Allow to continue.

Then, follow the steps in these Microsoft knowledge base articles to learn how to import photos to Windows Photo Gallery:

When you import videos from your iOS device to your PC, some might be rotated incorrectly in Windows Photo Gallery. You can add these videos to iTunes to play them in the correct orientation.

Photos and videos that you sync from your computer to your iOS device using iTunes can't be imported back to your computer.

I am having the same problem. For years I have imported photos from my iPhone to “my pictures” on my pc., windows 7. Yes I have iTunes updated and all that. Now all of a sudden I start getting a pop up window that says all those photos have been imported, which they have not. Have tried several times over the last few weeks. The memory on my phone is getting less. I used to do iCloud but stopped because of all the same reasons mentioned by people here on this thread. If there is an apple support person on this thread can you tell me why I’m getting a pop up window saying all those photos have been imported when they have not? And I’m using the same procedures that you mentioned on this thread. These photos don’t belong to you, they belong to me. So I would appreciate your help in getting them to the rightful owner. Thank you.

I figured it out! The Windows device driver for iPhone was out of date. I updated the driver and everything worked like it did in the past.

1. On PC go to Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Devices and Printers

2. Scroll down below printers to see "Apple iPhone" in "Unspecified" category

3. Right click on that and select Properties

4. When that opens, there will be two tabs: 1. General and 2. Hardware

5. Toward the bottom of the Hardware tab is Properties, click on that

6. Another window opens with four tabs, the 2nd tab is "Driver", click that

7. Look for and click Update Driver

8. Then restart PC

That's it! Hope this works for you.

I have never been so frustrated! Spent 2.5 hours researching and led in a BIG icloud circle. Downloaded ANOTHER ap (Icloud for windows), worked through all of the password barriers and still cannot move photos from my iphone 6s to my pc. Used to be a non-issuue. Dissappointed with Apple, especially because they are so unresponsive to others like me who have the same barrier.

Chris. Hope you are still there. I too am having problem getting computer to recognizing photos on my 5s. I only recognizes the latest 6 pics. I have 450 pics I need to download. And it doesn’t seem to go into cloud anymore either.

This started about a month ago. Yes Camera Roll was affected somehow I am guessing.

Is my file structure affected. Probably.

I did do a complete I tune backup yesterday. But I don’t know how I can retrieve pictures off iTunes.

Thanks for any help u can provide

Mike
