How do I request full desktop site in Safari (10.1.2) on MacOS Sierra?

I am trying to check my bank account, and Safari keeps opening the mobile site of my bank.

I looked almost everywhere and I can't find how to request the full desktop site in Safari on MacOS Sierra.

MacBook Pro, iOS 10.3.3

Please use the following procedure to determine if the problem is isolated to your Mac, or lies elsewhere.

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Load macOS Recovery by holding and r (two fingers) while you start your Mac with a third finger.
  3. At the macOS Utilities screen, release those two fingers.
  4. Choose Get Help Online.
  5. Safari will launch, but it will lack your bookmarks, favorites, history and other preferences.

While in that mode, please determine if the Citibank website correctly loads the desktop site or not.

If the problem does not occur in Recovery mode, but returns after restarting your Mac normally, please read If Safari is slow, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or has other issues - Apple Support. The applicable section is "Remove Internet plug-ins and other add-ons" and the Support documents that follow "Learn more".

Thanks, my Mac loads the desktop site but of course that doesn't help you.

Please review all the suggestions inIf Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing - Apple Support. Additional suggestions can also be found in If Safari is slow, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or has other issues - Apple Support.

Needless to say, if you are using any non-Apple "anti-virus" or "Internet security" junk, anything at all in that broad category of garbage, don't. A lot of things won't work if you do.

Thanks John.

As of applications installed, I don't have anything installed besides MS Office, Chrome, Firefox and bunch of Software Development tools. I use Firefox and Chrome for all my professional stuff. I leave Safari for personal use.

My laptop is clean of junk. Since I am a systems engineer I do not want anything in my laptop to play a role in my software functionality, making my code work here and not in another workstation/server.

All my development tools point to Firefox and Chrome for debugging purposes.

I suggest you use the program created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. It will provide a snapshot of your system which we can analyze to possibly determine the cause of your problem. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
