icloud drive not syncing

icloud drive is not syncing on my new desktop, no matter what I try, nothing is working. icloud photos is syncing perfectly fine and keeping updated but icloud drive is NOT. I've tried everything, looked through support and tried everything there. Reinstalling, uninstalling, refreshing the folder, unselecting icloud drive/reselecting, adding folders on a different device in hopes it'll show up. Completely removing icloud from the computer, restarting. EVERYTHING. Nothing is working and I'm at my wits end, support didn't help, neither was google or youtube. It seems like a common problem from what I've seen and even experienced with my surface pro only to have it MONTHS later sync out of the blue. Everything is updated, running windows 10, updated and everything. All devices updated as well.

If there is a solution, I would love to know because I've tried everything else. I can access it fine from my previous computer perfectly fine and even the surface pro but it isn't syncing at all on this computer.

Alex, that link you provided has been linked to over and over when this known issue comes up. The article does not help. We all know how to download and install icloud for windows, and we all know how to save things to the pc's icloud drive folder, and we all know how to enable icloud for windows.

What is not happening is that icloud is NOT SYNCING with what is on our computers' icloud drive. For me, I've got multiple folders that show up at icloud.com, but when clicking on the folder, nothing is there. No files. I thought that everything was working fine, but when I needed to access my backed up files on icloud last week because they had been deleted off my PC, well guess what..... the files were not there. So I've been paying apple for the maximum 2 terabytes of storage for a few months now, and it was worthless. None of my files were stored. Just empty folders.

WILL APPLE PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE???

It's been going on for months and months according to all the complaints I find about it on a google search.

But please don't link to that same generic article again. It is lip service that does not help or even address the issue. Talk about passing the buck.

@geoffreyfromnewburyport

I have been using iCloud Drive on my Windows 7 laptop since December 2017. But I don't sync or download photos. I use it to sync files on iCloud Drive (about 2.6 GB in total) and the browser bookmarks (in between Safari on the iMac and Firefox on the Windows PC).

The only problem I faced so far has been the occasional disappearance of a few files (one in Pages and one in Excel) on iCloud Drive on the Windows side. When this happened, I went to my iMac (when I came home) and saw that they were actually still there. However, I had to rename them (and then change the names back to the original ones) so that they are resaved to iCloud Drive on the Windows side under the original names.

Hello everyone! One week ago my iCloud drive has stopped synchronization on all my devices. I've tried everything, resetting / reinstalling, signing in / out, cleaning up iClo.drive at all... Nothing helps. The files are available through the web interface, but on all my devices it is just an empty directory.

Who had some fixes for this problem?

Hi @sujitk! Not yet, still have to wait while developers are investigating my case. The only thing I know that many users are affected. Yesterday all my books from icloud were lost. So, this becomes worse.

:::Suggestions from support team + what I've tried:

1. Sign-out, reboot, Sign-in again

2. Enable Desktop & Documents in iCloud. Check if it works...

2. Sign-out, create a new user account on your mac, Sign-in with the same AppleID under new local user account…

3. Reinstall your macOS, Reset all your devices, Sign-in again…

4. Backup. Sign-out (delete all data on your mac), Delete all data on icloud drive via icloud.com. Sign-in and try to sync…

:::My conclusions:

If this happens on all your devices, you are not able to do anything yet.

I suggest you to have full backup of all data and call to iClo support.

Hi @Way5, hi All.

I have this issue to. My sync worked until last week, then something just brake and now i have no files on my windows PC's. I called iCloud support first time toady, they suggested me to clear my host file and turn off AV, I will try to do this but I'dont expect that help at all, I don't modified hosts file anytime before.

Edit: Now I can't see my files on iPhone too 😕

Hello, I've installed icloud disk on my computer (W10) and my files are normally uploaded to icloud. However some files/folders I added later to the icloud drive folder are not uploaded. Why is this and how to make it upload?

Since I found a work around : Run icloudsetup.exe with the option Repair. Files are again uploaded but after two or three days, again they fail to upload. Then same scenario run icloudsetup etc...

Apple phone support fails to solve the issue.
