iTunes 12.7 javascriptcore.dll crash again!!!

i was able to fix the problem in our environment!!

We using a proxy.pac and after some hours of troubleshooting i registered that only entrys in our pac that starts and ends with a * broke iTunes.

Now we change the entrys to "h*...*" and iTunes is running without problems. (h for http & https)

Example:

if (shExpMatch(url, "h*mywebsite*")) {return proxy_1;}

Glad you've got it tracked down, but that solution won't help me unfortunately. The .pac in my office is GPO controlled and no way they will update it for me to just get my music. Oh well. Hopefully an update from Apple soonish.

I had the same recurring issue and did the same reinstallation stuff like you did,until I rememered a similar issue in the past that was caused by the automatic webproxy configuration that I've implemented in our company network.

Internet Explorer is set to automatically receive configuration via WPAD proxy configuration file that works perfectly except for iTunes. It causes the Javacore.dll to crash. When I set the option to a manual proxy server or when I'm at home with direct internet connection, iTunes works without any application crash.

Can confirm iTunes 12.7.1 is working properly. But I'm just gonna stick with ver. 12.6 cause I need the app transfer feature, sad tho I had thousands of music play counts just wish there was a way to downgrade and retain the play counts and playlists SIGH APPLE!!.

IIRC iTunes doesn't work well behind a proxy server. If your VPN routes traffic through the remote network that might also foul things up.

Well, since I started using iTunes, all new versions have always worked fine for me, just until this update... In fact, now I'm using the previous version because it still works.

I've tried your solution but it didn't work: it seems that every time I open iTunes, it keeps creating that registry key...

You may also try removing this key:

HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\AutoConfigURL

Yes it is re-created for me too, but it seems that when it is missing it triggers iTunes to do something magic during startup which makes it not crash (for a few hours)

Obviously, you will get the setting from a company domain GPO? Then, it is expected that the key will come back. But you have some time to use iTunes 🙂 Until Apple will fix it.... again.
