Wow. A new update to Itunes 12.7.0.166 and the "App" icon disappeared again from the side menu on windows. Now you can't even re-enable it under preferences, because Apple removed that option too. So, no icon and no way to re-add it again. Does anybody now any magic to bring back the "App" icon so I can be able to test again my new development app releases ?

Thank you, this is the only useful thing I can do: open a compliant. In the meanwhile, I'll be using one of the few third-party software available on internet to be able to manage my iPhone easily and continue to develop ios Apps. That's really a shame.
That sounds hopeful. Has Apple restored the automatic backup that used to accompany the first sync of the day for each iDevice? It disappeared when I installed iOS 10.3 (or maybe it was 10.2.x). I now have to do a manual backup both before and after each sync.
No, because I don't use iClod and DON'T want to give Apple a chance to screw up my iMac and iDevices even more. Are you saying just select the iClod option then IMMEDIATELY re-select the Computer option? I don't want ANYTHING going out to the "cloud".
Well, I have 13 backup folders in my ~/Library/Application Support/Mobile Sync folder and no way to differentiate which is for which iDevice. I'd like to delete the ones that apply to my Original iPhone(s), my Original iPad, and my lost iPhone 5. Since there doesn't seem to be away to do so, I thought I might just move all the folders into a new folder, compress it into an archive, then delete the uncompressed new folder. Would that work?
Edit. I think I was able to identify my current iPhone & iPad backups by arranging the files by date created then by date modified, so now I just need to delete those. I'll try to ID the older folders mentioned above, later.
Didn't work for me. Trashed my screen, backed up to the current iTunes as above, the restored renewed phone from backup. Had to restore all 3rd party apps over internet and lost all data that was contained within them. Infuriating
Not allowed to make a copy or delete a backup going via iTunes>File>Devices. My choices are: Sync; Transfer Purchases...; Back Up; Restore...
Clicking on Back Up just launches a backup session; clicking on Restore... just lets me choose which backup file to use to restore the iDevice.
How do you copy and delete a backup file via iTunes>File>Devices using iTunes 12.6.2.20?

Yes, I'd say that pretty much sums up the Apple design philosophy from the very beginning. What I don't understand is why, after all these years, it still surprises people.
Aha, OK, it is no longer there. Well, I do not like this change! It was simple and transparent to have the option to manage my mobile apps via iTunes. It was also much easier to write comments to apps on my computer (rather than type it on mobile device).
Yes; unfortunately they seem to have abandoned their "the tech for the rest of us" philosophy and adopted Microsoft's "we know better than you what you want".
My solution was to download iTunes 12.6.3 which Apple quietly released in October.

This will only be temporary as there will be no further support
from Apple for this version (stated in the download page). So
for now, new devices and iOS 11 works. iOS 12 (or what ever
it may be called ) and next years devices may not work at all.

Speculation about what Apple will or won't do in the future is prohibited in these forums.
True, but that gives more time for a third-party solution.
I won't be going to an iOS that I can't use my iMac to manage my iOS apps on my iDevices. That feature was the MOST ELEGANT and USEFUL part of iTunes. iTunes should only handle iOS apps and music buying, syncing, and managing (through music playlists and app home screen sorting).
