Updated iOS 11 and the split view multitasking doesn’t work

iPad Air 2... tested on iPad Pro (small and large) with same problem. Apps which split fine in iOS 10... does not split anymore with iOS 11. It’s not my gestures as Apple apps split fine.

I have even talked to developers ... some of the authors are perplexed as well.

OMG ... yes :-/. Thank You, but I know how it works ... it works for for Apple's Apps ... Mail, Safari, iMessage ... but NONE of the third party (that I have tried: about a dozen or so) apps (that all used to work fine before iOS 11).

I will try the "reset" path ... but I have multiple iPads (Air 2, Pros) that all have the same problem.

If you have an IPad Air Split View doesn't work. Slide Over does, but it is not working right on my iPad Air.

I still have it. I played some videos and these symbols show up in the upper left corner. The one on the right allows you to minimize the video so you can drag it around.

Yep, my iPad Air won't do split view. And neither will my wife’s Air 2. Poor execution Apple. Stop suggesting using features that don’t work.

What type of reset did you do?

I can get split screen working Apple’s applications ... but it seems to stop working on ALL 3rd party apps ...

Be nice if you could tell us what iPad you have?

It took me a few tries to do the right motion. This worked:

1. Swipe up just a little bit in order to see the dock.
2. Press and hold on the second app you want. Do not drag. The icon will give the impression of a “pushed button.” It gets a little bit longer in both length and width, and greys out a little.
3. Only after it looks like a pushed button should you drag it. Once you start dragging, it does get longer. You can then drag it to the right or left side of the screen.

On the iPad Pro, I can toggle between slide over and split view by preasing on the little notch on top of the 2nd app’s window and dragging down. It works regardless of whether the 2nd app is on the right or left side of the screen.

I don’t have a mini to test it, but you could try the same method and see if it works for you.
