ios 11 update phone freezing

I agree! Maybe if Apple would stop releasing a new iPhone & software every 6 months they could better concentrate on releasing updates that were actually beneficial. While they’re at it they need to get rid of the update nag feature that essentially takes your phone hostage. I don't remember telling my phone it could install the last update, but it did at some point & my phone has been randomly freezing for the last couple of days. Some people have recommended erasing & reinstalling from an older backup, but that’s unacceptable. This is Apple’s mistake & their responsibility to correct.

I updated my Iphone 6 a few days ago. The phone started to immediately freeze once in a while and this morning it similarly goes to a black screen every minute, small spinning icon appears and then it comes back on....Please help. This is sooooo frustrating

I have the same issue. Several days ago I updated my phone. The phone started to freeze once in a while and this morning the screen blacks out exactly every minute, small spinning icon shows in the middle of the screen and the phone comes back after a minute or two. I am totally desperate...

I now have this problem, too; iPhone 8 plus a little more than a week old, but I have had no problems until today. One thing that is fishy is the AppleCare online diagnostic...within an hour or two of doing the diagnostic (and having to agree to send data to Apple and their ad buddies, or whatever the disclaimer said), boom—constant crashing, spinning icon in the center of the screen, kicked to locked screen.

I have had no problems with my old 6s for two years. ****** about my new phone not working, I grab the old one that has been off for a week and attempt to use that. Boom. Doing the same thing!

Both have 11.1 on there...trying to update to the 11.2 release, but, well, THE STUPID PHONES KEEP CRASHING.

The Apple community misses Steve Jobs more and more with every single Apple release nowadays.

Mine locks up every minute...enter passcode navigate back to these threads looking for answers (none to be found, of course), a couple clicks to the next page and boom—back to lock screen. I quit. I'll let them give me a new phone new phones, given even the old iPhone 6 is now plagued with this problem, and then 'lemon law' these rotten Apples.

Is there a way to turn off the nag feature? In the past I always waited before downloading updates, but since Apple installed the nag feature I usually go ahead b/c I get so sick of being asked if I want to upgrade & then having to unlock my phone when I say no. I hate that feature & since I’m an ADULT I see no need for it.

I have been having same issues. Does anyone know of a fix for this issue. My applications do not load or my phone crashes.

I had to get a new phone because I thought it was the issue and it is still happening. I paid $800 for this phone and I’m getting screwed. I’m two software resets from android!

The exact thing happens to me too! My phone screen will become unresponsive on an app and then I’ll try to hit the home button twice to close it. It’ll just go to the home screen and freeze. It won’t lock the screen is frozen and the home button doesn’t work either. I can’t hard reset it because the buttons don’t work. It eventually does like you said and goes to a black screen with a small spinning icon and then turns on after about 5 minutes.

It's 12/12/2017, my iphone7 is running the latest ios11, and the screen froze again! cannot even restart or reboot by holding the lock and home screen. panic. only screenshot can be taken, tap the screen dosen't help, i should have stayed at whatever system that i got it from and should not trust for the update! disappointed

Thank you for the tips on what to do if the screen freezes, but I think the real issue at hand is WHY this has suddenly started happeneing to so many iphone6 users after updating to iOS 11. What is the root cause? Honestly, I held off a very long time upgrading my iOS (was stil on 9.2) when I made the leap to 11. I’ve been regretting it ever since

From the first time I updated my 6s to iOS 11 I’ve had nothing but problems. First it was issues with cold temps shutting the iphone off, never had tha problem last winter of 2016. Every iOS update I hoped for a fix but...speed was reduced an screen freeze increased. I’m really starting to think about a droid and loose the bs

I myself am having issues with a 6S that was working perfectly before the update, which now is freezing and seems to be having memory issues as well. As if the apps overpower the memory on the phone. This is a IOS 11 issues and apple seems to want to brick the older phones?

The minute I updated to 11 on my iPhone 6s my phone started freezing up. I did everything Apple suggested me to do..plugged my iPhone into my Mac and went into iTunes and set my iPhone up as a new phone...didn't help at all. I have done every update to my iPhone and it still freezes up. Getting really tired of trying to use my iPhone but have to restart it every time it freezes. I really don't think Apple knows where the problem is. I am disgusted with Apple!

I’ve been facing same issue Andy Iran so anoyingafter every 10 minutes of phone locked and opened I can’t even enter the lock code to open phone. Have Tom restart several times using hard reset to get freaking phone working.

My phone is iPhone 6Plus and in less than 6 month so of brand new phone purchase I started facing blue screen to death error and Apple garb me refurbished phone in return to my new phone. NOw after using this phone for almost 2 years I Hear this issue suggestions as there Jan 3rd party OSD not supporting some drivers.

Now Apple how should i trust your company now as you have given me a second hand product in favour of complete new handset I have purchased and now this error is so ridiculous that you want me to spend money coz you’re display driver (if this isn’t cause) is not supportive in iOS 11.

Should I claim to Apple for this pathetic service and releases.

Same here! The new ios 11 is a killer! 10.3.3 was good! Why do they always have to mess with a good thing and then no allow the os to be reverted to an older version.

Anyhow, I downloaded the app "Battery Life" which does state my battery has severely degraded (new ios related possible), but will be swapping batteries if that doesn't fix it I might be switching back to android.
