After upgrading to IOS 11, i started to have this exact problem with my iphone 6s in the first minute after upgrade, it only gets normal after restart but after a while it starts to not work again. Sound not going, not coming all calls are completely silent. İ never had this problem until upgrading to IOS 11.

And seing this is also happening to others, its probably a IOS11 6s issue.

My phone could not be worse or less predictable. Must use headphones with mic for anyone to hear me. Starting immediately after upgrading my iPhone 6. Have updated to newest iOS, no improvement. Restarting does not improve. No carrier update available. This is really really bad. Speaker phone seems to work a little better but it is not predictable either. I restart twice a day at least just in case. Please advise.

Yes - exactly. And the tell-tale-sign it's going to happen again, I've found, is when there's no visual indication on the screen when using the side volume buttons.

I have noticed - as I use Airplane mode at night - that this now also turns Bluetooth on after deactivating (Airplane mode). So there may be a connection there. But I have failed to replicate the issue so far.

You know, you might be on to something. I always have bluetooth on, but usually it’s not connected. Normally (in iOS 10) the icon in the top bar would be gray (when no devices are connected), however now the icon is continually black, as if there is a connection. However, there isn’t any.

I also use airplane mode at night, so this could be connected.

I've been having this issue as well. I'm on an iPhone 6s. I take great care of my phone and it's in great condition. It has NOTHING to do with people not being able to hear me though. I cannot hear any audio in the ear piece nor is anything going out via the mic. This happened immediately after my iOS 11 update. It's not my phone. The phone was completely fine. I restart, it works just like many others have stated. This is a big problem as I handle multiple client calls daily. It's messing things up for me. Causing major frustrations. Also, the freezing and random restarting is absolutely getting on my nerves. I've never had a problem with iOS updated as I have with this.

Anyone experiencing weird cellular service slowdowns drop outs? I had great service and now, it's really bad. My web browsing is faster via my wifi as opposed to my data connection. Which is just odd and again, only after I updated. I updated to 11.0.1... things are buggier now with apps than initially. This is not good.

My iPhone 6s Plus was working perfectly fine before the update and now I have the exact same issue as everybody here no sound in the speaker and people cannot hear me during a phone call. I have to reboot the device and that fix the issue. But after a while the problem is coming back. And I don’t speak about all the other bugs IOS 11 is bringing on my phone (buggy and slow) I think I rebooted my phone more often since I have iOS 11 than since I bought my phone 20 month ago. This update is a huge joke for a company like Apple.

My father was an Apple fan and we have Apple devices since more than 30 years. It’s very sad to see that they don’t want to admit all these bugs are coming from their software update and I really regret that I did it.

Please Apple if you want to keep your customers you have to do something for them.

I have the same issue with my iPhone 7plus. It’s all fine until update. Tried all the recommendations that apple support suggested, restore, hard reset. The issue is with the volume button stop working, therefore making the volume stay at the lowest. Workaround is to restart the phone, but this happens to me 2-3 times a day. Which is extremely frustrating. I notice my music apps stops working too.

I actually received a new phone while I was in an apple store last week. But the problem exist even after this brand new install on new phone from apple .

The support insist that its a hardware issue and tell me to bring back to the store.

I have a very similar problem. After upgrading to ios11, call volume over my car’s Bluetooth connection is very, very low. Basically can’t hear anything people on the other end are saying. Tried adjusting all of my car’s speaker settings but that did nothing. I can only assume it’s a problem with the upgrade’s software. Please fix!

My iPhone 7 has suffered the same fate. Worked fine until the update. Now any app that requires connection to the microphone doesn’t work. Including FaceTime, Skype, Voice Memos, phone, and guitar tuner. So i’m Now having to make calls via the iPad, while I wait for the next update.

Seriously Apple, desks should be getting cleared for this honker of an update. The engineer snag list should read thus:

———————————

Question 1: Does the iPhone still work as an ACTUAL PHONE?!

(Note to engineer - If answer is Y then proceed. If answer is N then please start again.)

———————————

Please Apple. Please. Sort it out!
