After upgrading to IOS 11, i started to have this exact problem with my iphone 6s in the first minute after upgrade, it only gets normal after restart but after a while it starts to not work again. Sound not going, not coming all calls are completely silent. İ never had this problem until upgrading to IOS 11.

And seing this is also happening to others, its probably a IOS11 6s issue.

Okey, updated my phone to 11.0.3. and still experience the same issue. However, this time I have noticed that unlike before when the volume buttons stopped responding (usually the clue, when you need a restart), this time the volume buttons still work and silence on the calls (earpiece, headphones or speakers).

The one thing that I have noticed is that, my regular apps crash and freeze the phone for long as time (like facebook app randomly crashes, Flipboard randomly crashes etc.) all apps are up to date as well :/ Getting little impatience with this...

Guys,

This is critical issue. On IOS 11.0.2 (iPhone 6s) Resetting network setting solved the problem. While on IOS 11.0.3 it got worser and I need to perform restart every single day.

Users really need to be able to perform phone calls on their phones instead of having new version of poop icon.

When this will be addressed properly?

I'm having the same issue. I held off on iOS 11 and stuck with 10 for the longest. This weekend my iPad which is on iOS 9, was having trouble with updates because the iOS was a bit outdated I guess? So I decided... poorly.. why not update both of my devices? Now I can't hear when calls are coming in and my alarm won't go of properly.. Guess who was late to work this morning? Thanks Apple..

I'm kicking myself for thinking this update was a good idea.. not to mention I hate this update. Turning off wifi and bluetooth means having to go into your settings to "actually" turn it off? Why?

Is there a fix for this or is it finally time to drop Apple? Cause honestly with each update, and each "new", and "innovative" phone I cringe more and more at my decision to dedicate myself to this company..

Even I am facing the same issue after upgrading to ios 11. cannot hear normal phone calls but works fine on whatsapp calling. I have to restart the device over n over again when there's a problem in audio during call. This is weird as it works fine on whatsapp call but cannot hear a thing on phone calls and starts working upon restarting. This has to be something with the software n has to be fixed asap!!!

Yeah I noticed this after I posted sorry! There's a more recent one for the actual non beta one.

Here's a link to the more recent one: https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/how-to-downgrade-from-ios-11/

My phone has stopped acting up since my maybe 4th reset yesterday? I haven't had any call issues. I am constantly testing the volume to see if the icon pops up. so far all is well so I haven't had to try reverting yet.

exactly the same problem here, while making a call would hear ringing (sometimes out of the loud speaker) but when the other end picks up the call it's mute on both ends.

If I or they try to call with whatsapp it's all good.

Only a hard reset will fix it and only for some time, then the same issue represents itself.

I have to say it's very annoying, when you use your iphone for work.

This iOS 11 update is embarrassing. It's totally out of control.

Everybody has a diverse set of bugs or issues, which I have never seen before.

Appalling

Hmm, the problem seems to have spontaneously resolved itself on my phone. I updated to 11.0.3 and since then haven't had any issues.

I received a call this morning in my car using bluetooth and then was able to make a call no problem a few hours later. This combination would have normally led to the problem and me restarting my phone.

The only new variable is that I bought AirPods, but I wasn't using them (or even had them on me) this morning.
