I accidentally did the upgrade to 11 and ever since I have had nothing but problems with the phone. I personally wish that I had waited to do the upgrade. It seems if you wait on it, the bugs are worked out and you will have a smoother transition. I also am now having problems with text messaging duplicating the messages. My phone has frozen a few times since the upgrade. The sound and microphone and speaker problem that was discussed in this thread is definitely caused from the upgrade. If I am listening to a speaker through Bluetooth and then pick up my phone to send a message I am unable to use voice to text. After a phone call or text message comes in while I am listening to Bluetooth the volume goes all the way down and I am unable to use the microphone on the phone I have searched the Internet for a fix and the frustration with an upgrade coming out that has many problems makes no sense. My phone is working much slower and freezes periodically. I need

****** Apple says it is not a software problem but everyone on this site can't be wrong! In my family, we have 2 iPhone 6s cell phones and one works well and the other you can't hear out of the ear receiver. Callers on the other side can hear me but I cannot hear them. The service provider is Verizon and obviously there is no issue because one phone works perfectly. It may be some defective hardware issues and Apple will not take responsibility.

The defective phone works with headphones and on the speaker.

None of these fixes have worked. Latest update 11.2.1 - All problems started with the 11.0 update

  • I keep both phones updated to latest IOS updates
  • Reset the settings - no help
  • Checked all speakers using various means including recording a message. - Clear recording - no solution
  • Checked incoming and outgoing calls using 2 cell phones and also a landline - no solution -
  • Shut off bluetooth - eliminated all bluetooth devices - no changes
  • Car bluetooth works fine - just like the speakerphone and headphones - both parties can communicate
  • Turned the phone off several times (reboot) - no solution
  • Transferred calls to a good phone using *72 + 10 digit phone number - the good phone picks up call perfectly.

What am I missing? Please help!

Who needs a functional phone when you have emoljis that move (sarcasm).

I tried everything on this forum several times including getting a new phone(killed a lot of time setting up new phone). That helped for a few days. We must have a corrupted app in common or something. I noticed, last year there was a problem with people who had What's app. I have what's app and apple watch Series 1 with my Iphone X. Perhaps we can find common denominators?

No I have followed over 10 suggestions, including getting a new phone countless restores countless setting resets, different cases, now they want me to change carriers. I get a lot more information from this discussion board then from Phone/store support . I know better than to change carriers but I might anyway just because I’m going crazy for three months.
