IOS 11 Sound Problem

I have similar problem after upgraded to v11.2. After a few round of restarting my iPhone, it does not help.

Out of sudden, I found out that the phone has been "muted"..... after I tapped on unmute, the keyboard sound, ringing sound is back to normal.

Not sure why the upgrading process muted my phone.

Sound issue is back again- but not as bad as before- but sometimes other side having trouble hearing my voice during call and same with voice memos and screen recordings. But other bugs appear fixed.

My iPhone 6s Plus which had the intermittent no audio problem for incoming and outgoing calls since iOS 10.3.3 seems to be stable and working again normally now for the last couple weeks, ever since I think iOS 11.1.2 was installed. Nice to have it doing its primary function properly again!

The sound and microphone and speaker problem that was discussed in this thread is definitely caused from the upgrade. If I am listening to a speaker through Bluetooth and then pick up my phone to send a message I am unable to use voice to text. After a phone call or text message comes in while I am listening to Bluetooth the volume goes all the way down and I am unable to use the microphone on the phone I have searched the Internet for a fix and the frustration with an upgrade coming out that has many problems makes no sense. My phone is working much slower and freezes periodically. I need

Same for me. When I use loudspeaker on a call, my mic won’t work. But when I try recording a video or using the voice recorder it works perfectly fine. I hope apple fixes this soon because I’m pretty sure it’s not a problem with my microphone :(

Guess what. It happens on my iphone x too. Everything was fine until I updated to ios11. After the update, I can’t hear my calls, no dial tone too. I restored the phone. Everything was back to normal. I stopped doing updates after that until ios11.2 came along. I updated and guess what. The problem returned! This is really frustrating!! Apple seriously needs to do something about this. It is affecting a lot of people.

Has anyone had their malfunctioning repaired previously at a 3rd party non-Apple authorized shop like Ubreakifix? I've been reading about how 3rd party parts are problematic on iOS 11. Just wondering because my iPhone 6 was repaired at Ubreakifix and it was fine in iOS 10 but immediately broke upon upgrading to iOS 11.

Who needs a functional phone when you have emoljis that move (sarcasm).

I tried everything on this forum several times including getting a new phone(killed a lot of time setting up new phone). That helped for a few days. We must have a corrupted app in common or something. I noticed, last year there was a problem with people who had What's app. I have what's app and apple watch Series 1 with my Iphone X. Perhaps we can find common denominators?

So a couple of weeks ago I took my phone in to Apple for a battery replacement. I was hoping that the sound issues might be related to the battery...

Anyway.. during the battery replacement, the 'Genius' screwed something up and bricked my phone.

So.. Apple gave me a brand new replacement phone for free.. result.

I didn't restore from backup on this phone so it's about as fresh as you can get.

The call issue still happens.

This is 100000% a software issue.

I've noticed that it only happens in certain locations (my home being one of them unfortunately) and at certain times (evening being the worst)

No I have followed over 10 suggestions, including getting a new phone countless restores countless setting resets, different cases, now they want me to change carriers. I get a lot more information from this discussion board then from Phone/store support . I know better than to change carriers but I might anyway just because I’m going crazy for three months.

I also replaced my phone and after two weeks the new phone started doing it. I also want to note that my original phone, I had the problems w, started doing it three weeks in and I replaced is after a month and a half. REPLACING YOUR PHONE DOESN'T WORK, save your time in the future!

I tried every possible solution on forums, nothing works..problem happened to me after i paired my Iphone 7 (ios 11.2.6) with bluetooth aux receiver, which i use in my car to listen music...i answered call while i was connected with that bluetooth device, and problem with microphone started there...on calls, other people couldn't hear my voice, recording voice memo is noisy a lot i can't even hear my voice, camera works best for video recording of all apps, it have some noise when i can hear in max volume...calls i don't know how, but they are fixed now, both with normal/speaker mode....now i'm installing the iOS 11.3 beta 5, and i'll report if the problem is fixed or not..

UPDATE: i tried the beta and still nothing worked so far...i found that bottom microphone was the problemi send the phone in T-mobile(where i bought the phone)..i wait my phone now, hopefully they will fix asap..

After upgrade to IOS 11 my iphone 6s, when I make a phone call and using Loudspeaker , microphone does not work. but in normal call when loudspeaker is off, microphone works good
