iPhone not getting text notifications

Since upgrading to iOS 11, my iPhone 5S no longer makes a sound or displays a notification on my locked screen when I receive a text message.

I've checked that "Do Not Disturb" is turned off, and that the sound mute button is not turned on. I also checked in Settings / Sounds and I have a sound selected for Text Messages.

When I get a text message, the only way I know I got it is if I click on the home button to start up the display. In addition to not making any sound, the text message doesn't even light up my phone display when I get it, but if I click on the Home button to turn on the screen, I can see the notification.

This is a bit of problem, I depend on text messages quite a bit in my job and now I have no idea if I'm getting a text message unless I keep checking my phone. How do I fix this, or is this a bug in iOS 11?

I went into settings-general scroll down to rest click on it and reset settings it doesn’t wipe yours phone

Reset Network Settings Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings > Confirm resetting.

Yes, i did everything. The settings are correct. And as i mentioned i did a clean install several times (in DFU-Mode) and even this doesn’t solve the problem for me.

Also try go to Do Not Disturb - Silence - Always.

And make sure that Do Not Disturb is off as well as your schedule.

Hi if you go to settings >general>reset then rest all settings, after u have done this you should start getting notifications and text notifications hope this helps 😃

Even a DFU Clean install doesn't solve the problem. I experienced the exact same problem on 4 different 6S devices on iOS 12.

I have an iPhone 7 and I just updated to iOS 12.0.1

I don’t receive notifications from messages at all unless I’m the app I get a sound apple please fix this it’s a huge inconvenoen

No and it is so frustrating. I am so sorry I switched everything to Apple. They cannot figure things out.
