Email slow to load in mail app with iOS 11

This problem has been plaguing my IOS11 devices as well. I found something that as odd as it sounds fixed it for me. In the left pane I have always enabled viewing the “Unread” folder. Now that I can get the same result by pressing the little 3 lines at the bottom of the view I wondered if somehow that unread folder view was causing my problem. I selected “edit”and unchecked it and now my mail is working fast again. I will update this if it changes in the next day or so and becomes slow again.

I find the gmail app a good replacement for the non-starter iPhone email app. Apple doesn’t care about their iPhone App. It’s not rocket science, as others have much better functioning apps. They don’t care and won’t fix it. Move on.

Apple, in their infinite wisdom and arrogance, does not participate in their OWN forums like this one. People need to call AppleCare. Or vote with your wallet and delay, or stop, buying Apple products...

Still having a problem here, too. I have to check my phone to make sure all the emails have loaded on my Ipad. Sometimes Yahoo emails don’t all load, and Gmail also taking forever to load. Yahoo customer service is nonexistent. Maybe they are saving the resolution as a holiday present.

I have a problem with email. IOS 11 cause all my emails become slow and not able to let me see the messages. Also, super slow sending email which that annoying me so much! IOS 11 is NOT FRIENDLY! How shall I fix it ASAP?

Thanks everyone for all of the suggestions. I have the same issues, but more recent, on a new iPad pro and iPhone 8. I have just followed the suggestion of installing Edison Mail and so far it works perfectly.

well, here's another perspective--I'm still on El Capitan on my MacPro and the same thing just started happening to me this week. Haven't changed a thing. I've got a gmail account also. Messages show up, and I have to sit there for what seems like forever looking at a blank space until the content actually appears. So...maybe doesn't even relate to upgrading the OS?

Instead of Apple tellingo us what to do to temporarily fix something that in the past worked fine, whay don't they fix it? My take is that Apple is suggesting a "walk-around" because they don't have the slightest idea of what is causing the problem.

I use iOS Outlook with 2 email accounts. It works well, but neither is gmail.

I'm almost sure it handles gmail.

Ye it works with Gmail, when you set the app up you can add other accounts inc gmail, I have it running and it all works fine.

I'm done with iPhone. A lot of my apps are running slow and I'm really tired of debugging the phone every time they release a lousy update. My husband never has problems with his Samsung.
