No notifications from Activity app after update to Watch OS 4

Since the update yesterday I’m not getting stand reminders or notifications when I close activity rings. And yes, all those options are turned on. Anyone else have this issue?

Apple Watch Series 2, watchOS 4

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap Health.
  3. Tap Edit, then tap Wheelchair and choose Yes.
  4. Tap Done.

I had the same issues after updating to watchOS 4. I came across this suggestion to edit the wheelchair settings and that seems to have solved it!

edit: Whoops for some reason I didn't see the other responses which mention the same thing. After days of not getting stand notifications, I'm finally getting them. whew.

Not sure how/why this would have fixed my issue, but it did. I was receiving breath & stand notifications, but not goal completion notifications. Called support and they had me go into the Health App under 'My Watch'. They had me toggle the Wheelchair setting from 'No' to 'Yes', and then back to 'No'. The next day, I started receiving the new blazing ring notifications for goal completions. Not sure if that was just a coincidence or not, but I've been receiving the notifications for several days now.

Agreed, seeing as health/activity is one of the main selling points of the watch you’d think they’d of paid attention. At the moment I just get a summary once all three targets have been met but nothing else, no stand notifications, no breathing etc. Everything is switched on and setup correctly. It just doesnt work as it did on os 3. Lousy bug to have, makes me wish I had never updated. To be honest mine is an initial release watch so maybe they should of restricted that as far as os 3 in first place. Would of saved me the hassle and frustration but I wasn’t expectimg to lose so much functionality from an ‘update’. My other favourite thing got canned too, the ability to browse music library with iPhone as the source. Grrrr!

It seems we are all getting different problems. I get notifications on my series 1 watch for closing rings but breathe reminders won’t work. They did yesterday for a bit when I went into the watch app on the phone yesterday and muted the notifications and then toggled this off again. But today getting nothing, have changed the amount of times a day it notifies me but it makes no difference. Not sure if the stand reminder is working for me as my kids have not let me have a chance to test that one. I have made sure the wheelchair toggle is off in the phone health app so I’m hoping this will work come tomorow when I’m my work desk! Overall though I’m really frustrated with this ‘update’. Bugs aplenty and the loss of being able to browse ones music using phone as source. It’s the worst update I have experienced overtaking windows 10 in my list of dissapontments!

Maybe this will help some people.

I was having problems with the Breathe reminders and the stand reminders. I am still having issues with the breathe reminders, but the stand reminders are now working.

Here is what I did: https://www.imore.com/how-to-fix-broken-stand-reminders

Not sure why Apple does not have you chose a wheelchair option during setup????

Now just need to figure out how to fix the breathe notifications.

I tried this...I rebooted my phone and watch afterwards. I got excited after my watch came back on because the current hour was blinking again under stand when I looked at the activity bars so I thought I would start getting stand notifications again. This wasn't the case though...stand notifications still aren't happening and now when I look at the stand bars in the activity app, the current hour is no longer blinking.

I do not have issues getting Breathe or other activity notifications...frustrating people are having all sorts of different issues after the update.

I had exactly the same situation. After reading this thread I toggled the wheelchair setting and restarted one device after another. The ”current” unachieved stand hour was blinking, which led me to think it was sorted, but shortly after that it had gone back to blank.

it really is a pain in the @rse. I work from home and I like the notification to make stand and take a short break...
