Just upgrade my iPhone 7 to iOS 11, then found out using the calculator function it become slow and poor response. All the button become slow response, I can’t touch too fast on all the calculator button function, if not it will miss the touch and won’t recieve and no response.
I miss the old calculator, it function much more smoother.
Try a simple Restart.
It is because of the fancy animation effect, when I press the 10 + 9, it became 109 instead of 19 as plus sign takes too slow to get activated because of the animation. We don’t need animation for a calculator.
It is not a restart issue. It is iOS 11 issue the function buttons in calculator have a delay. You can see it when you hit button. The tap slowly fades on button. Horrible design. Give me old calcu
I have the same issue I restarted still same slow calculations... I think it’s just os11 and apple being sloppy I was a fan but throughout the years it’s been going dowbhill apple is not what it use to be .
Seriously? Did you try it by yourself before suggesting a restarting? And even a label "Apple recommended".. Oh boy...
The calculator app is absolutely rubbish now and I can't believe apple didn't see it before releasing code that feels so amateurish... Is the app for kids? Are we next going to see some fancy bling-blings and maybe fireworks? Maybe adding a notch for the app itself to look more stupid?
It's just an calculator app! How hard is it to get it and make it to work? No one need animations which only make the app unusable and users make only errors when using it.
It continues to be slow for me. Even after updating to iOS 11.0.2. It needs about a half-second after the last number before it will accept the add/subtract/divide/etc button. The new iOS definitely has a slow and unusable calculator.
It’s very disappointing I’ve been loyal to Apple for a very long time and throughout the years the devices are getting bigger, bulkier, slower, it’s like after jobs they’re going the opposite way .... very disappointed, especially the new OS.... even the iPhone X is most likely a let down... thinking about switching

It's super frustrating using the calculator because the buttons are very delayed after one formula.

Same and i was using it for work now i cant even its so slow and you have to wait for the plus or minus button to not be “on” what the heck apple you’re going backwards

I've repro'd this across 6 devices and friends have verified it too. Still happening after iOS 11.1 upgrade.
Repro is easy: Do any calculation with more than one operator, and type reasonably fast.
1x2x3 will give a result of 23. Every single time.
If you type really slow you'll get the right answer.
It looks like there is a transition animation on the buttons and the animation is blocking click events.

This issue first recieved widespread attention in the past few weeks and iOS 11.1 had already completed testing in preparation for yesterday's release.
In short, you have to give Apple's developers a chance to fix it, get the fix sent out for testing and release the fix; it won't happen overnight or even within a week.
i have a 5S model A1533. After upgrade to 11, calculator gives wrong answer. 365 times 5 is 9,125 by my apple calculator. And i thought it should be more like 1,825. It is consistent no matter how slow i go.
