update iOS 11 can't log in Apple ID

hey there

so after I updated iOS 11

and I tried to log in my Apple ID on my phone .but it "could not Sign in " (there was a problem connecting to the server.

but ! same Apple ID I could log in my iPad 4 and iPad Pro and Mac .

I don't know why just not working on my phone .


please help .thank you .

I solved the problem.


1. enter 'App Store' app.

2. try to log-in with your ID which is called X at the App Store app.

3. You can see a different Apple ID in the App Store id section after the 'could not sign in'. I will call the ID as Y.

4. press home button.

5. enter 'settings'-'iTunes and App store'.

6. log in with Y id and Y password at the Apple ID. You have to know the Y password.

7. tap Apple ID and logout.

8. log in with X id and X password at the Apple ID.


It works for me.

Have had the same problem for months. Went to apple store and they say "I need a new phone". Anyways, apple support via phone was most helpful after a senior advisor helped out and problem was resolved. **Back up your phone, plug in iphone to computer and then "restore Iphone", then when it prompts you...after it resets after its been "restored", proceed to "restore from xyz backlup" from your most recent backup; all of this was completed within Itunes on macbook. I don't use Icloud, but I'm sure thats fine. I have an iphone 6 (feb 2015) and basically the software was too old for anything to function properly. "Restoring iphone" downloads the updated software to your phone and then restoring it from your backup downloads all the aps etc to you phone and updates them properly. Other's recommendations on this blog did not work for me, even the one that seemingly worked for everyone else (signing into an old apple id, logging out of it, and then logging back in with the main apple id)--that didn't work for me. If that doesn't work for you then the proposed method may work. Good luck!

I have this issue too, and can't buy in-app purchases because of it, or download new apps. When I'm in the App store and look at my account, it has me as being signed in with my backup/emergency email account. When I click on that to view the Apple ID, it just takes me to a blank screen.

I've tried, to no avail:

1) changing date to last year, as apparently fixed this issue in older phones. The server now checks this and boots you off before it does anything.

2) changing my payment details and getting it to re-auth them. This seems to make the ID fine in the Settings area, but when I go back into the App Store, it fails again and I have to re-authenticate, at which point it gives me the "Could not sign in" message. When I go back into the App store afterwards, it has the emergency/backup email address there again.


This is very frustrating!
