Stocks App view format - iOS 11

How can I set the viewing format of the Stocks App from vertical back to Horizontal?

The Stocks app viewing format in iOS 11 seems to have a bug. The view used to be horizontal before updating to iOS 11.

I did some more testing. It appears that the stock symbol length isn't being accounted for correctly. I noticed that the NASDAQ and S&P 500 symbols display at a slightly small font size than everything else when my list is one line per company.

My own list displays correctly even when using a text size setting one notch below the largest.

If I add a long symbol such as BTCUSD=X to my stock list, at first the symbol's font is small to fit the space.

However, after closing and restarting the Stocks app, the font size for BTCUSD=X is no longer smaller and I get the line wrap problem.

Hope this info helps the developer.

I was having this issue too for a week till I decided to start debugging it

Couple points:

1. Adjust text size from setting->accessibility->text font will help in general

2. In my case, even I adjusted to smallest font it is still showing cascaded lines, looking deeper I found one of my stock ticker is having unusual long name "2474.tw XXXXX<In Chinese>"(This is a Taiwan foreign stock). By removing that ticker, viola, all solved! Now I get to keep large font with one line stock ticker + price.

3. So check your tickers, make sure you don't have tickers that have longer than 5 letters. That will push the app over to cascaded display mode.

Hope this helps!

Ridiculous that Apple can’t fix such a simple problem in the rev updates that have come out. My solution: Abandon Apple Stock app altogether - plenty of others out there - I.e., Yahoo Finance is pretty slick and has no screw ups under new IOS - abandon the Apple Stock app and they will fix it - they don’t want to lose eyes on their app and associated ad revenue - do it !!
