iOS 11 - Scanning function is found on Notes

Hi Guys,

I've installed the new iOS 11 on both my iPhone 6 & iPhone 7 and was pretty excited with the scanning function available on the Notes app.

Sadly, the Notes app on both of my phone does not have the option bar where I can click on the "+" sign to scan a document.

I've tried restarting the phones but to no avail and I couldn't seem to find answers online.

Is anyone having the same issue?

User uploaded fileYou have to make sure that you are using the ICLOUD or ON MY IPHONE folders. If you are using the email accounts folder it will not give you the option to sacn documents with the icon (+).

Photos:

1.These are the folders in my note app.

2.The folders that will show tabs on top of the keyboard are from ICLOUD and ONMY IPHONE.

3. There is no option or tab showing on top of the keyboard. This is from my email account folder.

I have that same problem. But I found a remedy. The + sign and other special fn will only come up if I choose to create a new note under folder ICLOUD or ON MY IPHONE only. If I were to create a new note under my e-mail folders. There are nothing there.

So I would suggest you to try to open note, choose the Folders page and try create the new note under those 2 folders. See if it works?

I don't think so. In my iP7 with iOS 11.0.2, scan option ("+" sign) is visible in Notes, and my default account is "on iPhone". I've never used notes syncing to iCloud.

You are correct, and it has been stated twice in this discussion. The scanner function in Notes works with iCloud Notes or On my iPhone/iPad Notes. No other email account Notes will work with the scanner in the Notes app.

I had no plus sign on my iPhone 6. I had notes in a gmail folder. I made a new folder. I shut down my iPhone. I restarted it. I went into notes. I selected the new folder. I got the plus sign.

I went back out of the folder and went into the gmail folder. No circle plus. Went back to new folder. Circle plus came back. Looks like making a non-gmail folder, and using it, solves the problem.
