Hi Guys,
I've installed the new iOS 11 on both my iPhone 6 & iPhone 7 and was pretty excited with the scanning function available on the Notes app.
Sadly, the Notes app on both of my phone does not have the option bar where I can click on the "+" sign to scan a document.
I've tried restarting the phones but to no avail and I couldn't seem to find answers online.
Is anyone having the same issue?
You have to make sure that you are using the ICLOUD or ON MY IPHONE folders. If you are using the email accounts folder it will not give you the option to sacn documents with the icon (+).

1.These are the folders in my note app.
2.The folders that will show tabs on top of the keyboard are from ICLOUD and ONMY IPHONE.
3. There is no option or tab showing on top of the keyboard. This is from my email account folder.
You might be using a different keyboard in your keyboard setting. Are you using a third party kboard such as Google's gboard or something else. You can check for it in Settings > General > Keyboards. Hope this helps.

At this point, I would try to install a fresh copy of iOS 11.0.1.
If this doesn't help, I'd contact your nearest Apple Store and explain your issue.

Be sure you are selecting saving On This iPad or iCloud.

I don't think so. In my iP7 with iOS 11.0.2, scan option ("+" sign) is visible in Notes, and my default account is "on iPhone". I've never used notes syncing to iCloud.

There is no + sign
There is no plus sign in Notes
What icons do you have just above the keyboard when you open a new note? Which iPhone do you have?
No plus sign anywhere in Notes. No toolbar above keyboard. (ipad pro 10.5 IOS 11.01)
This is an obvious bug
Did you do as deggie suggested? Did you select the On My iPad or iCloud Notes?

Thanks for the correction. I didn’t even bother to look at the keyboard itself even though deggie suggested/alluded to it in his post.
I have the same problem
The instructions do work--I have used them.
If you describe step by step what happens as you try to use them it should be easy to see that is happening in your case.
This is not helpful if there is not plus sign in a circle.
