Safe Note app after iOs 11 Update

I just upgrades my ios on my 7+

After doing so my app "safe note" does not work.

It says the developer of this app needs to update it to work with iOS 11

It then says this app is not currently available in the store. Contact the app developer for more information.

#1 I have no idea who the developer is

#2 I used this to store ALL of my passwords for EVERYTHING

Is there anyway I can get the information out of this app?

TY!!!!!

This is my solution for our problem with safe Note v3 in iOS11.

1. Download iPhone BackUP extractor (demo version);

2. Select the BackUp containing your SafeNote (the last working backUp for me, created before updating to iOS 11);

3. When iPhoneBackUP extractor terminates the scan, Select SafeNote in the list of APP present in your BackUP;

4. The number of file and Database recorded in Safe Note will be displayed (see figure attached);

User uploaded file

5. Select "All databases: Extract 1" (the free version of "iPhone BackUP extractor" allow you to extract limited number of files. We need the only one I indicated)

6. The "iPhone BackUP extractor" will save the following file (for example on your desktop): "\library\ProvateDocuments\CoreDataNotes.sqlite"

7. You can open this file with TextEdit and you can browse it in order to recover your password, otherwise you can download the software (freeware) "DB Browser for SQLite" [Releases · sqlitebrowser/sqlitebrowser · GitHub] and Browse data fo database and export every note saved in Safe Note in a natty way.

I hope this helps everything have my same problem.

Good luck with that. It appears that the app developer is out of business. My expectation is that you're going to have to try to remember all of them (yeah, I realize what I'm saying). In many cases, you will need to go to the appropriate login location and select "I forgot my password."

I use the "1Password" manager. It works on my Macs as well as my iPhone with automatic updating in both directions. If I ever have the situation that you're facing, I can go to one of my Macs and print out all of my passwords. Similarly, if the Mac application for some reason stops functioning, I can go to my iPhone and at least manually locate each password.

How do I get pass encryption so that I able to see my passwords and notes?

You cannot do so. It would be pointless to encrypt data if you could decrypt it outside of the defined system that created the encrypted archive. The only way to decrypt an iTunes backup is to restore it (which requires the encryption password) onto an iOS device. But for an app that isn’t available anymore, that won’t restore any data for that non-existent app.

Hi all,

For those who did backup their SafeNote content by sending the backup file (inside the app) to themselves by email, they should get a file with extension .safenotebackup

Just extract this file with 7Zip or Winzip and you'll get all your notes extracted as text files in a folder... the layaout is not so nice with line breaks sometimes missing but at least you will get your notes !

Good luck

My Apologies! I failed to notice that "s" at the end of the app I was looking at, AND, I am in the US store, whereas you already indicated you were looking at a UK app. (MY BAD!!!)

So, I think you are really shafted here. The website page hasn't been update since 2010, and that is when they introduced their brand new version of the app....2010, let's see - iPhone 4?

Your final post for how to legally get back to the signed 10.3.3 is going to be the best solution for now. Then you might want to look into Secure Notes in your iOS for going forward: Keep your notes secure with password-protection - Apple Support

Don't know if that will help going forward, but I'd highly suggest that you dump SafeNote.... 😮

Best of luck,

I too have been trying to solve this problem for the last few days. I upgraded my iPhone 6S to iOS 11 without knowing that it would kill my 32-bit apps.

After some investigation (started here: Matt Harding - YouTube), I found the developer of Safe Note (no "S). His name is Matthew Harding (https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthewharding1), but I have not been able to get a hold of him yet to see if he can help us. If you view his full profile in LinkedIn, you can see he was the developer of CodeDrop UK before it dissolved, and is now the Senior iOS Developer at Trinity Mirror plc.

If anyone is able to contact him via email and see if he can get us the .ipa files, or if he can do something to help us to get our data off of the app (or maybe even update it to 64-bit on the app store?? I'm sure some of us would be willing to pay for that), it would be a miracle.

Maybe he can upload something to the CodeDrop (http://www.codedrop.co.uk/) website for us?

If anyone hears anything please post here.

Thank you so much JORYNRACE and EmuX!!!

You saved me! I have been sulking for 4 days now. I have kept all of my valuable information in Safe Note for many years now. Any time I have changed iPhones I have always double checked to make sure the information was on the new one before I reset my old one. This past Tuesday night I was in a hurry and it was getting late. I figured the info always transferred before why wouldn’t it now? I hit the factory reset! I went back to the new phone tried to open Safe Note and BAM! The app couldn’t be downloaded because it is no longer available in the App Store and as I dug into it even if it was available it wouldn’t work with the latest Apple update. 😢 I’m no computer genius and figured my information was lost forever. I restored the old phone! I had chosen not to update it Thank God! But again the app wasn’t available. I got an even older phone out tried to transfer the app but my Mac wouldn’t allow it. I got out my old Windows computer. Backed up the old old iPhone 5 was able to transfer the app to the old iPhone 6 but my information was gone. 😫😖😡. I kept researching and ran into EmuX. Ok,,,, we may have an out. Downloaded extractor and DB for SQLite. Followed the directions and something was happening. Yes we have information!!!’ But it looks like hieroglyphics. I researched DB/SQLite and couldn’t find a way to interpret the information. This was way deeper than my tech ability. if I had any hope I figured it was with my old iPhone 6. I received my replacement phone on Tuesday and have 5 days to return the old one. 5 days would be Sunday and at this point it was Thursday. I needed to get it sent back now. Screw it! I’m keeping it trying once more over the weekend

and hoping I don’t get a charge from Verizon. After all 5 BUSINESS days will be Tuesday so hopefully they don’t count the weekend. Here it is,, Saturday mid morning and I run across JORYNNRACE whom simply says to scroll to the right under Browse Data and ZITEM in DB Browser for SQLite. TahDah. There are all of my notes!!! I cannot thank you enough. I feel like I should be sending you both checks. I wish I could really show you how much I appreciate your posts. 💗😘💕

The developer was warned over a year ago that 32-bit apps would not run on future versions of iOS. That day is now here. The developer is apparently out of business.

I had a similar problem with a similar app (Notes +) that is now unsupported because the developer is kaput. I migrated all of the data to the iOS Notes app (which is a pain and not as convenient) until a better solution comes along.

Sorry, there is not much more we can do here.

I’m not sure I understand all of your issues. iPhone backup extractor goes on your PC or Mac. To extract from ICloud is possible on the pay. version I believe. The method I posted works fine as long as you have not deleted the safenote app from your phone. Just use iTunes and backup to your computer and you can get the data for free using the software posted. You do need to remember any password for backups though - no way around that.

Any apps that are no longer in the Apps Store, but which were in your iTunes Library (i.e., you had them downloaded) can be moved back to your device manually via iTunes. If the iOS you are running is not compatible, it's not going to load, but if it is, it will copy to your device and run:

The New iTunes: How to "Sync" Apps no longer av... | Communities

If you did not download the app to your Library, then you won't be able to get it back since it is no longer in the Store.

Best of luck,

Hope you get a reply. I have the same problem with a Password app. I know the developer's email, but he (or she) is not responding. One solution would be to restore the app to an older ios, or have a 32 bit emulation capability in ios 11, but I haven't been able to find anyone that can answer if either capability exists (apple store folks say it doesn't). I found some tools that allowed me to upload the app's data file to my PC, and to view the data, but it is encrypted so I cannot read it. If your data is not encrypted, you could try that approach. I found the capability by googling how to extract files from an iphone.
