IOS 11 upgrade and Renault R-Link

After upgrading my iPhone SE to IOS 11 the bluetooth connection with my Renault R-Link does not work anymore. Connection the phone manually sometimes helps. But it used to connect automatically.

Take it to your local Renault dealer and they can update the software to the latest version. Having taken my car yesterday I can confirm that bluetooth connections are now working with iOS11 backlink gov. Getting the software updated also solved the long-standing issue with UK speed cameras displaying the km/h value as mp/h. It only took two years!

While many people are having problems, a majority of users upgrade to a new iOS version without any issues. My Honda CR-V works just the same on iOS 11 as it did on iOS 10 and iOS 9. Most people just won't come to a discussion board to post that all is well and they aren't having any issues. If something changes in an Android phone or update, the same problem will occur.

As you will see with different vehicles, phones, and updates, the same problem exists in Android. There is no one here that will be hurt if you decide that Android is the way to go for you. Just make sure that you don't do it based on thinking that you aren't going to run into the same or similar issues.
