Windows 10 does not detect Thunderbolt 2

Hi from Sweden,

I installed Windows 10 on my MacBook Pro (13", mid 2012, OSX 10.12.6). Windows doesn't detect the Thunderbolt 2 port which mean I can't use any external displays. I have updated all the drivers etc.

It seems like I'm not the only one with this problem since the same question has been up here several times, how did you guys solve it?

Can I use an USB-port instead? I was thinking about buying an USB-HDMI adapter, do you think that would work?

Thank you in advance and apologies for my English :-)

Using a 13-in 2012 MBP/Intel HD4K with W10 Anniversary (1607) installation, I tested using a Apple TB-to-DVI adapter and an Acer X192W 19-in display.

I also tested hot-plugging. Cold boot and hot-plugging both work. I am a bit surprised with hot-plugging, since it is not supposed to work.

After cold boot, with display physically connected...

I do not have Creators Update (1703) and do not plan to use it.

The problem was the same in Anniversary Update (and the reason I updated to Creators Update since I thought that it might help).

I don't even have to option to personalize my displays (sorry, everything in Swedish..):

Do you think the USB-HDMI adapter would do the trick? It's really frustrating that it's not working because I might as well bought a new PC instead of paying for the Windows-license... 😕

In Windows Device Manager, under View, if you select 'Show Hidden Devices', do you see any additional entries or missing devices?

This may or may not correct the issue, but disconnect all external storage/peripherals, and run the following two procedures

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

How to reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

and test.

Yes I am, and it's working just fine in OSX.

I have tried to unplug the power cord to the monitor while the device manager is on display. When I replug, the device manager seems to update itself, but there are no new devices added. So my guess is that there is some kind of connection. I hope you understand my explanation. 😁 😁

Utility = driver? I unistalled the utility program, created a Windows System Restore point, reinstalled the utility program, tried the compatibility mode and still get the same warning: "This program can only run with ASYS monitor devices!".

After that, I did something probably stupid: I uninstalled the hidden "Generic PnP-monitor", since I thought that Windows would detect it when I reboot. Well, it didn't. 😕 What should I do now? Reinstall Windows?
