Since iOS11 Bluetooth keeps disconnecting

Since I upgraded to OS11 my iPhone 6 keeps disconnecting from the Bluetooth in my car, a Mazda 6 2015 vintage. To reconnect I have to select the phone on my cars infotainment unit and off it goes working for a while longer until it again disconnects mid song. This didn’t occur prior to OS11, any ideas?

Hello Pathfineroz,

I was having the same problem with my Bluetooth devices continuously disconnecting and then reconnecting on the iPhone after the iOS 11 update. It did this with all Bluetooth devices such as my car, powerbeats, etc. I use my Bluetooth headphones at the gym and on runs so you can see how this was a huge annoyance for me.

Anyways, this morning I was reading some articles and came across one that suggested I should reset all networks. I did that along with hitting the “forget this device” feature. I’ve been using my Bluetooth wireless headphones ever since I did that (for a little over an hour) and voila I haven’t had any disconnection issues!

I am not tech savvy whatsoever and I didn’t read through all of the comments in this discussion so hopefully I am not being repetitive and I am able to provide some assistance.

What gets my goat the most is that Apple refuses to acknowledge that there is an enormous problem with iOS 11.0.3, and that thousands of users are effected by this horrible release. They give no indication as to when there will be a fix. Their complete silence is like a slap in the face to all Apple users who paid more than $1,000.00 for a phone that simply doesn't work.

Bluetooth is part of their core technology, and that is the biggest bug. And it's not the only one either. I have found four persistent bugs that make my life miserable. Let's see if Apple recovers from this blunder.

Hello Everyone,

I am an Apple fan but they are making it very hard for me to keep the faith. i have tried all suggestions and I still have the issue. My blue Tooth disconnects and then reconnects again and I have to re-select the option to continue. As mentioned previously the option doesn't appear to disconnect if only the phone is connected, it is when I am streaming music via blue Tooth the disconnect occurs. What really annoys me is you can't really get help other than self-help such as this forum. Apple don't appear to list issues they are having so I can't tell if I am alone (Clearly not with this post). I would be happy to know that there officially was a problem with Blue tooth, I would then check from time to time to see if there is a firmware update. If they disagreed there was a problem I would then move on to my car manufacturer but the problem started with the iOS update so I start here. This is really starting to feel like the company has a problem with communication. It is so unnecessary as it is likely we are all Apple fans but are starting to lose our faith. Please Apple swallow your pride and post current issues and the progress made on addressing them, I for one would respect this approach.

Kind Regards,

Pathfinderoz

I was feeling hopeful about a solution since some of you are saying you don't have problems after the update but I updated to 11.1 yesterday and unfortunately, I still have connectivity issues in my car. This is only happening in my car. All other devices don't disconnect like this.

Waiting for next update to truly fix this for me. 😢

This is crazy. Is there somebody at cupertino who can read these posts and solve the problem? My iphone 6s since upgraded to ios11 works as cheap chinesse toy with my Audi bluetooth - connect, disconnect, connect, disconnect.

I am really disappointed and expecting update which will solve this problem!!!!!

or should I go to samsung store.... please advise

Well I got tired of this problem. Can't use my phone for work, so I pulled out an older 16GB Google Nexus 5X from my spare phone collection. It updated to the latest Android Oreo (8.0). Actually quite pleased with it (over my iPhone 8 Plus; 256GB) and may continue to use it for quite a while longer even after Apple fixes this problem. Go figure... $200 current phone vs $1000 iPhone.
