Since iOS11 Bluetooth keeps disconnecting

I have a 2015 Lexus and my iPhone 6+ has had a rock solid connection to Bluetooth. After upgrading to iOS 11 every 20 to 35 minutes the phone disconnects and reconnects. It does the exact same thing on my 2015 Toyota Camry and our 2010 Sequoia. I have deleted the phones in the car and the connections on my phone...I have reset the network settings ion my phone but it doesn’t seeem to make a difference. The disconnections are consistent.

Issue. Is there a workaround. Is this big being worked on.

I have this problem with iPhone X and iOS 11.0.x/iOS11.1 the Toyota Touch 2 and Go system. Let's hope that Apple can sort this pretty quick. Encouraging that there is at least a Beta of 11.2 around which may have fixed the problem. Very annoying for phone which costs £1150 (256GB)!

Why don't you first try it and then come back here to report whether it helped? People are assuming all kinds of ****. Nothing has proven to be working yet and Apple doesn't say a **** word. So please: don't tell us any more vague assumptions, but try it and report whether it improved anything.

I am going to give you one more shot to get this right. There are thousands of people who are having serious Bluetooth problems because of your lousy updates. Furthermore, you have not made any mention at all about fixing the problem.

I have an iPhone 6, and I see no reason to upgrade because I just don't see a legitimate reason to spend that kind of money on a phone that doesn't offer any new and exciting features.

I don't care how much it hurts to dump you. If your products don't work as expected, I will switch to Samsung. I hope you are following these threads; there are a lot of folks who feel the same as I do.

Why do nerd forums always have to go nasty? Internet tough guys need to look up, and treat people like they want to be treated. This type of stuff makes the atmosphere in this forum feel like Daddy hit Mommy.

I commented about 1 month ago. This was an awful experience. iPhone 7 and BT speaker were a bad match but both too expensive to chuck one out. Just walking between them or launching another app was a bad mistake.

Problem seems to have disappeared, je ne sais pas comment mais its over! Im now willing to buy their iphone x, but apple's image hiiiiiighly damaged, they should rename to pear!!!!

Same issue with 11.1.1.

According to Apple (have talked at least 6 times with Apple) it is a car issue and not a iOS issue. As this issue appears on multiple cars, this seems not correct. ios 10 was perfect

I agree. Too many different cars involved and also different phones. The only common factor is iOS 11.x

Any problems with regular Bluetooth devices like speakers or headphones? Fortunately my Bose devices seem ok

I did have the phone on charge via the 12V power socket at the time I was testing it on this occasion however I have previously tested the phone without being on charge and it still did the same thing.

I wondered whether it is related to a phone signal drop which then results in Bluetooth drop, rather than a cell to cell handoff (although the two could be related).

I certainly observe the same as you...no dropout when the car is stationary, but when the car is moving the effect appears random and frequent.

Have you had any response from Apple?

It does not appear to have hit their radar as a problem.

I've just installed 11.1.3 and there is no resolution of the problem.

Nothing was changed. I really came this close to slamming the phone onto the floor a few times.

I would then quit all apps, turn off wifi & bt, reboot, turn back on. But seemed to help only an hour or so.

Suddenly no issues *whatsoever* since like 10-15 days ago. Maybe there are many strains of this BT problem. My one got attended to. FYI, it was this one particular BT speaker would break connection every 5min with my iphone. Everything other device worked fine to both.

Could also be something they did on the cell tower? Then again, this is South Africa. I could have been under some spell!!

I installed 11.1.3 this morning and for me it is MUCH worse than 11.1.2. With 11.1.2 it would stay connected 20 to 30 minutes before disconnecting and reconnecting almost immediately. With 11.1.3 driving to work this morning and home tonight I was disconnected more than I was connected. Upon connecting, almost immediately it is disconnecting, and several times after disconnecting it was several minutes before it would reconnect. I don't think it is related to tower handoff either. I've had it disconnect and reconnect while not moving, sitting at stop lights, parked in a parking lot, etc.

Almost 2 months and 8 iOS versions and this is still a problem. This may be my last apple product, as much as I hate Android, I want things that I buy to actually work.

Having the same issue with iphone X ios 11.1.2 which is the lastest update. I have tried pretty much everything from restoring to resetting to factory setting and the problem still there. hopefully they find a solution.

I tried The 11.2 public beta. The phone stays connected in my car (Chrysler Uconnect) but my iPhone 8+ continues to continuously disconnect at short intervals with all plantronics devices. Not feeling the "it just works"love here at all.

Still have the issue, keep updating whenever a new iOS comes out ( although I stay away from the beta releases)

My log files are still with Apple 'engineering' and have been there just over a week. I get the impression there is a bit of a pile to get through. Hoping I get some feedback this week if only to ask for more log file data, at present I have no idea if what I sent was sufficient.

Keep coming across new poeple with the same issue. It does seem that changes in cellular signal has something to do with it when in the car.

I'm surprised this issue hasn't appeared wholesale in the tech media.
